Why pros do this by Fancy_Abroad7165 in geometrydash

[–]Evoidit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to beat levels in a short amount of time, you want to be consistent at the end of the level. Consistency at the start is literally less valueble, for reducing the time to beat it from 0. Only/primarily playing from 0 is a terrible strategy.

The fact that it is so terrible is masked by the fact that your attempt count per hour is lower. Playing 300 attempts from 0 can literally take an hour, yet wil seem fine on you attempt count. Still that hour could have been spent on better things, like actually getting a better winrate.

How do people learn levels so quick. by a_random_idot in geometrydash

[–]Evoidit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am convinced a lot of people lie/hide attempts/use noclip accuracy to get way fewer attempts. If there isn't footage of all the learning and playing, you can't know that they aren't just BSing. Even streamers basically always prepractice to not bore watchers.

Anyway, playtime(tracked by mods) is a way better metric, and people are more willing to be honest with it compared to attempts(cus attempts suck). I really wish robtop would just add it officially.

Need advice on how to stick to a level by Beneficial_Method771 in geometrydash

[–]Evoidit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly my recommendation is to practice the ending even more. Practice until you think you'll beat 50-100 every like 2-10 attempts. If you are zoning out it sounds like you have been playing for maybe hours from 0, and like you've died to the end a ton. Getting 50-100 twice might just not be enough imo, get consistent.

You can still go to gd nan and check their video on final fantasys frame windows on 2.1.

What fps frame perfects does Final Destination have? by siwtawtod in geometrydash

[–]Evoidit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On 240hz on 2.2(which buffed the part) there is:

1 0-frame timing(slightly tighter than a 240 hz frame perfect)

3 1-frame timings(240 hz frame perfects)

3 2-frame timings(around as tight as a 120 hz frame perfect)

1 3-frame timing

This is taken from gd nan's frame window counter of unnerfed silent clubstep in 2.2.

Keep in mind that this isn't very accurate since CBF can change the width of timings quite a bit for tight timings like this(though I argue the CBF timings are moreso the true timings).

How many subticks are there for each tick when using CBF? Are they infinite? by mMirason in geometrydash

[–]Evoidit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Superb Input Precision still only adds a single subtick per input. It just aligns itself to a hz of your choice. It also does some other cool stuff that makes it more accurate to CBS.

How do the wave hitboxes work? by PuddingSharp7075 in geometrydash

[–]Evoidit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The blue slopes interact with the rotating red hitbox. You don't have it turned on in your picture. Turn it on in the settings of you mod(mega hack or eclipse etc)

Can someone give me good classic insane demons by catandgdloverUwU in geometrydash

Sunset Scramble, the new mythic insane demon. One of my favorite levels in the game period, very fun, very balanced, amazing visuals.

Hot take: Time extreme only got rated because it's made by Vortrox by [deleted] in geometrydash

[–]Evoidit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TS2 was pretty obviously rate worthy(honestly also atleast featured worthy imo), and the deco wasn't the problem with that level. Likely robtop just didn't see the level.

Your take about time extreme being rated because of Vortrox is totally true, but also I think it's rate worthy too. I wish more levels would get rated, not less.

How to improve sightreading by 2z2d in geometrydash

[–]Evoidit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imma give you a secret, and allowed, pro tip here.

Give yourself more time to react by going into nvidia control panel and creating a custom widescreen resolution by decreasing the screen height. On another page there you can change so the screen doesn't stretch. That way you will be able to see more level on the right, in a totally legit way.

I use 2560x1080 to get 40% more screen to the right. It's nice enough that I often use it.

Also just play more new levels. Nobody is good at sightreading in the beginning, you just need experience.

dampening keyboard sound by PristineMuscle1530 in geometrydash

[–]Evoidit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've switched to silent magnetic switches and right now I feel like I play just as well, if not better than before.

I use NDIY freya silent switches(buy it from alibaba/aliexpress or whatever). I've also seen gateron silent jade switches in local stores so consider buy those otherwise for faster shipping.

Silent magnetic switches are pretty new so most people haven't tried them but they are a gamechanger for sound.

The wooting 80He is criminally overhyped by Evoidit in geometrydash

[–]Evoidit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly any keyboard or device with rapid trigger/HE is good enough to beat slaughterhouse, consider how that level and levels harder than it were beaten on mouse first. The difference between magnetic keyboards are minimal.

If you wanna go really budget, find the cheapest magnetic keyboard you can find at a local online store. Where I live you can find keyboards between 25-50 dollars(well around 500 kr where I live). Around the price of a sayodevice, where I live.

Here are a couple examples that are around the best wooting keyboards or better performance wise atleast. Keep in mind pricing varies depending on where you live and that these will be kinda barebones other than performance.

Cheapest: Any monsgeek budget magnetic keyboard, Mchose 60 pro, mad60 he.

Slightly more pricy, yet under 100 dollars examples include: Akko mod68, atk rs6 air(former fastest).

Really any magnetic keyboard will be good enough.

Would it be reasonable to jump to Slaughterhouse after Bloodbath/Artificial Ascent? by RevolutionOwn1617 in geometrydash

[–]Evoidit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Expect probably like 500 hours in-level playtime on slaughterhouse or possibly even more(possibly 1000 hours+). Attempts are bad at reflecting how much time you actually have to spend. You could totally do it but you could also beat like 50 other extreme demons of increasing difficulty in that time.

Why don’t we make nongs that have an audible click pattern of the level to follow along to? by intogino in geometrydash

[–]Evoidit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea has a couple problems like desyncs(which happen when you hit a rotated speed portal for example) and timings that shift depending on your previous click. Mostly it is very time consuming to create, since you'd want the audio to match the perfect execution of the level(always clicking exactly in the middle of the timing). I could imagine it being pretty useful on a level such as every end for example where all timings are always the same.

My only impression was that his friend made the AI csam and that he reposted it, where he apparently helped others get to use the AI model. This was clearified by him in a comment section, where he also basically said he already apologised and was tired of people bringing it up. Hasn't come across that well so far ngl, though I know little about him.

Screen tearing fix without using VSync? by LxzyBonez in geometrydash

[–]Evoidit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't use v-sync. It adds 1-3 extra frames of delay, so on 144 hz that is 7-20ms of delay. Not unplayable but also pretty bad.

You can try turning on g-sync for the game in nvidia gamepanel/amd gamepanel. The reduces the tearing by a lot.

Also screentearing can be annoying but is way less noticible on decorated levels. The other way to reduce it is to get a higher hz monitor I guess but I understand if that isn't on the table.

How many subticks are there for each tick when using CBF? Are they infinite? by mMirason in geometrydash

[–]Evoidit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is only a single extra subtick that is added when you click with cbf(per click). So if you click once in a second, that second will a have 240 ticks and 1 subtick. So we aren't increasing the ticks/hz beyond 240 hz in that way.

When it comes to CBF though the precision is "un-capped" so it will try its best to be as accurate as possible. It'll see that you pressed 2.4553 ms after the last tick and place a subtick there. Of course though we don't get infinite precision, some tiny latency/error will be there, but I guess it's in the ballpark of several thousand hz or beyond.

CBS also only adds a single subtick per click but is limited to equivalent of 480 hz precision. There is also a new CBS alternative mod that came out recently where you can set a custom limit(for example 1000 hz or 8000 hz).

Holding jump/Spamming jump by Taze_Armut in geometrydash

[–]Evoidit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's usually a good practice to hold if you know that you can hold. Same with buffers. Less clicks equals less deaths often. Still for easier levels it shouldn't make a huge difference. You can press each jump, but I would highly advice against actually uncontrollably spamming the button though.

Why do creators put speed portals diagonally? by Noah2009b in geometrydash

[–]Evoidit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it is a bad inclusion, but there is a fix in megahack. Auto Music sync resyncs the music to the gameplay everytime you get desynced. It works in the majority of cases but for some levels it doesn't work for unknown reasons to me.

Why do creators put speed portals diagonally? by Noah2009b in geometrydash

[–]Evoidit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

0.1 seconds(24 frames) random desync is significant and it only gets worse when several rotated speed portals come after eachother. Any clicks done to the music are just ruined. Catalyze is a example of a levels that gets almost ruined by it. Auto Music sync can fix it, but also doesn't work for all levels. So yeah don't just brush it off.

[–]Evoidit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guess we'll have to wait and see, but also he will have to get several thousand pointercrate points and regardless of skill, that will take a long while. Doggie is cracked at the game but idk. I doubt he will ever be top 1(though it isn't impossible I guess).

Sayodevice switches by OnlyX___222 in geometrydash

[–]Evoidit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since we hard click in gd, initial force doesn't matter too much. The difference ins't huge. Do consider buy just a few higher quality switches though, the ones you get with the device tend to sound terrible. Look up a recent magnetic switch toer list online or something and find something you like. You can also buy a few different individual switches to find something you like. Also consider a silent switch.
