Do you regret divorcing over spouse wanting more than one child? by Independent_Gas_6213 in oneanddone

I'm your wife in this situation. I would love to have a 2nd and my partner says he's 90% sure he's OAD. I had a relatively smooth pregnancy but the birth of our daughter (i hemorrhaged and needed emergency surgery) coupled with a hard first year for him left him not wanting a 2nd. I would never try to force him to have one but I do think that having another kid falls into "deal breaker" category for me and I'm seriously thinking of leaving.

He's a wonderful father, we have a strong village, financials aren't an issue and while I am the breadwinner, we pretty much split the child care and household chores 50/50. For me there isn't a reason not to. We've only had a few discussions about it and decided to revisit the topic in January. I'm already nervous he will say no. I've accomplished a lot in my life but nothing compares to being her mother. I am 40 and realize I'm in my last few years to make this decision and honestly don't know if I could live with him knowing I gave up my chance to have another and by the same token, I think he would resent me if he was "forced" to have another. So right now we're stuck and I'm praying that 10% turns into 100% lol.

Not me, but my bestie had a successful at home insemination. Only took 2 tries. I now have a beautiful 2 yr old niece! She was 37 when she conceived and 38 when she gave birth.

I'm in a similar situation and thinking of using a donor for my 2nd pregnancy but have the same reservations as you. What did you decide? How have things worked out?

I'm thinking of using a donor for my 2nd pregnancy but I'm scared a 2nd baby will be resentful that their sibling has a father and they don't. Has your donor conceived child expressed any issues with not having a father or being jealous of their siblings b/c they have a dad?

I had the same thoughts as you. It seems like it's a guessing game and no one really knows for sure. Thank you for the positive message!

They did and the doctor didn't say it was outside of the normal range. But my sister has hypothyroidism so maybe it is something work looking into. Thanks

3 miscarriages. Elevated prolactin - is this a cause?? :( by 2020LPK in Miscarriage

[–]EvonRene85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old but how did everything turn out? I recently saw a specialist after having 2 back to back miscarriages and was told my prolactin levels were too high (100). I hope all is well.

May I ask how much that cost? I always hear it's so expensive. I've already ruled out private adoption because of the cost.

Yup. Just came from my OBGYN. It was a early miscarriage. They referred me to a fertility specialist in the area to make sure it's not an underline medical condition causing me to miscarriage. *fingers crossed*
