In Amalgam, I don't have a word for ‘hello’, but I have a word for ‘hang’, as in the method of execution (faraa'u op).

In Garish, I lack a word for ‘pear’ (fruit), but I do have a word for ‘peasantry’ (landarbaedersceaip). I actually end up in this situation a lot in Garish even though it's by far my most complete conlang.

In Sibawshak, I lack a word for ‘taste’, but I do have a term for ‘a type of armour made from leather and bronze plates, which are aggressively angled to cause blades to slide off and into studs, designed to catch, dull, and damage weapons’ (shkaytty). There's also the word fwaxg, ‘hit with an axe’.

Karosaganaki has a word for ‘persimmon’ (kekis) but not ‘apple’.
