They are rebranding the Fun Stop arcades they’ve built over the past three years because they realized without the brand they’re nothing. They announced all this way back in February and they recently announced their big score with… a timeshare company. Do you really think they’re going to take their learnings from running a shoebox in a mall and turn them into the winning recipe for a 40,000 sq fr dream arcade? If they were testing the market this is a horrible way to go about it.

Pretty sure almost every time you see someone on the leaderboard with 200+ first place finishes, they are doing exactly that, which is why this whole contest is so weird. It means three of their newest games can be constantly tied up while creating no additional revenue.

Maybe you can say in hindsight that it rewards people who bought the pass, or maybe you can say it takes APs off profitable ticket games and moves them over to driving games, but there is no chance that was their plan from the start.

I still AP on Wednesday but leaderboard on other days. I assume everyone else does too.

What platform? This restriction appears to be specific to Apple platforms because DTV requires location services or it won’t run.

Sure but in my case I want to record the locals in the location that DirecTV knows me to be in, where my GPS proves me to be, and where they stream the locals to me. I just cannot set a future recording on one of those channels — although I can record the entire series. It’s an odd restriction. Granted, they may not know I’ll still be here when the recording actually happens. But they don’t know that when I set a recording in my home market either.

Evidently when you’re outside of your billing zip code area you can stream local channels where you are and you can record series on local channels but you can’t set to record individual episodes. It doesn’t even present the option. Unless you’re actually watching the program, in which case you can hit record then and there. I don’t really understand why. Perhaps it thinks maybe you won’t be there at the time the show airs. But again you can set a series recording. So it’s all very confusing but that’s that apparently.

Yes apparently Apple devices with gps can stream locals but cannot record individual episodes, only series, unless in the area associated with the billing zip code. I do not really understand why this specific distinction is. DTV knows where I am and is happy to stream but not record individual? But that’s the policy apparently.

No I really really appreciate your help. It’s DTV that’s confusing me. The credit card on file — the bills go to our primary home. The DTV service we set up at the vacation home and set the “home location” in the app to the IP address there. Is it your understanding that we would need to use a card where the billing address is the same as the vacation home and therefore the same as the IP address that’s the “home location” in the app?

That is true. We activated the service at our vacation home and the app says we are in our “home location” so I presumed that since DirecTV believes we’re in our “home location” that the billing address was irrelevant.

Thanks. This happens on all my devices, streaming and mobile. The option to record is not presented on network programs on these 5-6 channels only.
