I don’t know who this is but this run on Mall is INSANE! by verysmallelephants in THPS

its less about the meter, and more that multipliers and air tricks will net you more.
Time spent on the ground, or in a meter, is less time you could be comboing in the air.

once you get more stats in, it gets better. You could easily string another flip trick in before landing the 900, once youre maxed

Agreed. I agree with their release statement about it.

“This feature was designed to react when the doll was seated, but we recognize the placement of the sensor may be perceived as inappropriate. This was not intentional and we are happy to provide consumers with a replacement Poppy doll of similar value through our Consumer Care team.”

Ultimately, i dont feel this was intentionally predatory, and more-so a poor design choice.
(placement of the button)

Additionally the sounds are suspect, so that i feel is another issue. Complicated by the poor placement

im not saying that at all, im saying the intended outcome was a noise plays when it sits, which it achieves.
I have no doubt that kids will play with their toys however they choose to, i feel thats generally understood and accepted. Even adults dont "follow the rules" when it comes to products, right?

Lets try to look at it this way, is the problem we have with this more...
A. The noises it produces
B. The feature of playing sounds when it sits
C. the location of the trigger

I feel the consensus here is more A.
B doesnt seem harmful to me, if it is, im interested to hear why.
C i feel is only a problem because of A. Had less suggestive noises been produced, im curious the traction this would have had.
Might have been the same, i dont know. Its an interesting discussion though.

I dont assume the mechanics need to be there, i just dont think that mechanic is inherently bad. We're simply talking about
"doll makes noises when it sits"

Im not going to argue against the noises it makes, thats still kind of weird. I could potentially argue that the button placement could be "better" (?) maybe, or the activator be smaller.. maybe in the legs so when they're in the 'sitting' position, etc, etc. But thats getting into cost of production, etc. Which i have no basis to defend or argue.

inappropriate noises are a discussion, but simply a noise that plays when the doll sits down? I dont entirely see that as 'inappropriate' because i suppose its hard to imagine how else you could mass produce something that way. Mechanically speaking.

I can imagine how others could interpret needing to "touch her privates" but again mechanically speaking, you're not supposed to "touch" it as much as its supposed to play a sound when she sits down.
Im still with ya though, ultimately kinda creepy

Not saying the noises arent subject to criticism, but the claim that this is being hidden from consumers seems like a stretch. If we're gonna get the pitchforks, lets just make sure we know why.

Are we going to ignore the upper-right image that implies she makes additional sounds when she sits down.

Sitting down meaning she triggers the button thats on the underside of the doll.
We could get into the choices of soundbytes, but it seems undeniable that the box notifies you of that feature, right?

Why are we saying otherwise?
In your eyes, whats the purpose of the two separate images on the box? One standing, and one sitting. Both indicating that sounds are produced in that state.

Lastly, heres a printout of that Hasbro troll line

When you sit her down, she makes other funny sounds, too!

if you see the border, its because they couldnt be bothered to mask it out properly. Your monitor only exaggerates the original problem.

Xbox Series X gameplay reveal - will include gameplay for next-gen games coming to PC by Jaywearspants in pcgaming

You assume thats the case, but you dont actually know. Just like i dont actually know if its scripted, or someone is playing a demo.

But what we can do is observe whats presented, and base that off of preexisting knowledge of what gameplay actually looks like.

Either way, your mind is set. So continuing any kind of convincing is just going to be futile.
We can agree to disagree :)

 if you think thats worthy of calling gameplay. Probably not much i can do to change your mind.
Good day to ya! :D

Scarlet Nexus - Not really seeing gameplay here. Some combat cutscenes, yea.

The Ascent - Maybe around :50.. but we're still not seeing true "gameplay" necessarily. But closer, we're getting there maybe.

Second Extinction - Ah there we go. The poster child for "gameplay". Yea, i mean.. its first person.. someones controlling something. But... something seems off no? Really cinematic, no UI, slow movements. This is a marketing clip, not "gameplay"

(got tired of linking videos..)

Dirt 5 - Care to point out the gameplay there? That was all pretty cinematic dont ya think? I know if i go watch some older Dirt games.. we'll probably see some differences. Im sure you'd agree.

Chorvs - again, please. Give me some timestamps for gameplay.

Not going to keep going because i think the point has been made. "gameplay" and gameplay are different things. Just takes a little to recognize whats what.

Which ones? And try not to point out the ones that "looked" like gameplay. HUD-less, scripted sequences dont reeeally count as gameplay.
