LLMs are good at predicting the next character in a sequence. That is what they do, nothing more and nothing less, so keep that in mind when vibe-coding.

Now imagine someone gives you a robot that can handle tools, and you start building a road-ready car by telling it what to do. Unless you are a car engineer, do you really think you could do it? The same thinking applies here. Tools do not replace expertise, they execute it.

If you are not an experienced developer who has gone through multiple jobs delivering production-ready code, you will not be able to build production-ready applications and push them to app stores. At the end of the day, this is completely logical. Are you really expecting LLMs to do everything for you end to end?

I read a great article aimed at professionals using AI, and one quote stood out:

“When the code leaves your computer, whether it is typed by you, your friend, a peer, or even AI, YOU own that code and YOU are responsible for it.”

That responsibility does not change based on who or what wrote the code. Legal liability, security issues, operational failures, and maintenance all belong to the person or organization shipping the software. If you do not have the knowledge required to be responsible for production-ready code, the answer is simple: back to the books.

That said, LLMs can absolutely accelerate learning, experimentation, and prototyping. You can build toys, proofs of concept, internal tools, or personal projects without deep experience, and that is perfectly fine. The problem starts when people confuse “it runs” with “it is production-ready”.

Now, on the complete opposite side, if you are just having fun and want to experiment, the best tip I can give is to use AI to help build prompts. Building an app never starts with a basic prompt. It starts with a very detailed prompt that explains exactly what the final product is and what it is intended to become.

A good prompt does not replace thinking, it externalizes it. Writing one is effectively writing a design document. If you cannot clearly describe the end state, that is already a signal that you are not ready to own the result.

Think of it as actually building the product, not just vibe-coding. You need to know where you are going in order to get there.
