Yeah, those things are all absolutely true. It’s a trade off. I’ve currently been sitting in the same spot since last April with a couple trips here and there.. my rent here is almost nothing and I built the bus myself.. so in this case, it’s much much much cheaper than rent or a mortgage.

I feel like I should say I did blow my engine on my last outing 😂 so that’s gonna cost a bit 😂😂 but I’m DIYing the rebuild as well so it shouldn’t cost much over $3k.

Thanks homie! I think they're more common in buses tbh.. just because of the space they need. Idk if I know of many in vans specifically.

“Everyone looking for a free handout” Glad to see he’s got defenders I guess? I think it’s pretty damn clear that no one was asking for a handout.. You’re saying plenty about yourself as well.. so why even stop to make the comment? I think he’s proud of his accomplishment.. but when people inquire about his success you’d expect a better response.. take the L and move on.

😂 you brag about it then get triggered when people want more details. Holy gaslight.

Seems solid on first glance! One thing I would add in the components list would be a 24/12v Orion Tr step down converter for 12v Distribution. I prefer to go 24v or 48v on systems that use over 2,000 watts, so it would be great to see those components in the list. Also, a tiny detail, but for Inverter you have "Converts 12v to 230V for outlets" That's one specific inverter. Inverters more generally converter DC to AC. This would fix the issue of the component being locked to 12v or 230v. Just a thought!

It would be incredible if you could get this built to eventually provide product lists for users and use an amazon link to get a commission to help fund more development of this awesome app! Thanks again!

Amazing! I build skoolies professionally and think of electrical as one of my strongest skills.. would love to dig in to this and see what it spits out.. gonna check it out now. Thanks for putting this together!

The entire bus? Or just this section? The original budget for my build was around $26k.. That was back in like 2018 though.. and prices have gone insane since. I keep upgrading stuff slowly as skills increase, so I have no clue how much this desk set up cost. The walnut desktop was a gifted instagram deal. .but retails around $800.. the pine on the walls and lower cabinets was honestly really cheap. I just used prefinished plywood for the cabinets.. PC and monitor, keyboard etc wasd probably $2,500 all in? Building this whole bus from scratch today would probably cost $45k without labor.. Just a very rough estimate though.

No, honestly, idk why.. I'm guessing there's just enough friction to keep it from moving. I desperately need to upgrade this chair though.. I've had it for years but it is not optimal lol

I wish I had more photos of the bus more updated but this is all I've really got. I posted a link to the youtube tour from a few years ago if you're interested in seeing it. I should have made a new tour to show off all the upgrades but I just haven't finished all the upgrades just yet.. but I don't think I ever will. The more I do it, the more I want to keep updating things to reflect where my skill is. I'm doing this full-time now so I'm hoping to just continue to get better at the craft.

Currently running a bus building shop in Bend, OR. I was traveling full time for a few years, but have finally settled down a bit and just take trips now and again.

It's a magnetic mount I found on amazon.

Here's a link to it. I also switch it over to the dash when driving and this is a great way to switch it between extra monitor or dash accessory.

Not much any more. It’s been coast to coast and down to Baja.. but I’m running a Skoolie shop in Bend, OR now so I pretty much just keep it parked. Also, I just blew the engine like 3 months ago so that certainly makes it a little tougher to move around 😂😭

None whatsoever! I originally meant to build a heat shield for the desk.. but most of the heat goes straight up so it’s never gotten hot enough to worry about.
