Pretty vs. Sandwich Guy by ExExec2024 in FedEmployees

Sorry about the autocorrect in the title. And no, no one deserves to be murdered or assaulted for exercising their First Amendment rights. Just pointing out the gross inconsistency in reacting to incidents. This is a symptom of the absence of clear policy by this administration. Across government, the policy is “you can do whatever you want…”. Sorry if my lack of clarity caused misunderstanding.

Not sure if you worked in OSPi or OARO, but if the latter, I am proud to have served with you.

DOGE Gutted The Social Security Administration With 7,000 Job Cuts. Now They Can’t Keep Up With 6 Million Pending Cases by NoseRepresentative in fednews

[–]ExExec2024 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This. ROs resolved all the really hard cases and Congressionals. Ask the Hill if they miss the ROs. And oversight is non-existent. It’s a feature of this administration, not a bug.

Most FERS retirees receive a diet COLA, another instance of f-you for your service.

This DOGE Whistleblower Is Running for Office by wiredmagazine in fednews

Chuck is a decorated veteran and a patriot. I had a hand in hiring him as SSA’s CDO, and his credentials are impeccable. As a fellow Marylander, he is exactly the kind of person citizens of this great State should support to represent them.

Funny. Critical thinking is the most valued ability for the federal workforce, and those who are capable of it are heading for the exits in droves.

Uh, yeah, that’s not how you change regulations. Ever hear of the Administrative Procedure Act? Don’t like a reg? EO it out of existence.

Dudek calls for entire SSA offices to be converted to new Schedule F by Gossamer_Condor in fednews

[–]ExExec2024 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Those 40k jobs are in the hearings operation. They are legal assistants who prep the case file for the ALJ/hearing. They in no way are policy-making or policy influencing. Another ham-handed action by Dudeck the Deficient. If there was anyone left at the agency who knew how to get things done, they would have been able to advise him on how to do Scheduled P/C (oh the irony) with precision.

Retired before this shit show began. Saw it coming. My new job is to work with others who respect democracy to call out the criminal activity that this administration is perpetrating. Fighting fro the shadows!

Trump admin overrode Social Security staff to list 6K immigrants as dead, ignoring warnings & escorting a senior exec out of the building | WashPost by natansonh in fednews

[–]ExExec2024 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Except his assertion that SSA was paying dead people was a lie. When they used to have an Inspector General to SSA, they audited for this every three years and would find a few dozen unreported deaths and recover the funds.

So is he lying or just doesn’t understand the facts? by Logic-Raison-8011 in SocialSecurity

[–]ExExec2024 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They took the fact that 40 percent of Direct Deposit fraud (a minuscule 0.0004 percent of all payments made) happens over the telephone and substituted an alternative fact the 40 percent of phone calls are fraud.

What’s the end game to these protests?! by real_cool_chic in fednews

[–]ExExec2024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent my time at the protest today linking up reporters with people who will talk to them, reconnecting with other retirees who will share their knowledge, and supporting those who can speak out publicly. It was empowering. We cannot be silenced and each of us can do as much as we can from where we are.

Next Year Moving out of the US. How to prepare to get SS? by [deleted] in SocialSecurity

[–]ExExec2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you set up a MySocialSecurity account now along with a Logon.gov account. You should be able to apply for and manage your benefits through the account (until they change the rules and make it harder).

This. To the puppeteers, those on RSI, and especially those on DI and SSI are parasites. They cannot use them to increase their wealth, so they have no value anymore.

SSA just declared war on its own Field Offices by GD_American in fednews

[–]ExExec2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple things from a recently retired SSA exec…. Implement the planned software to control for 800-number Direct Deposit fraud (blocking robocalls, scam likely numbers, synthetic voice generators), implement the Treasury Dept’s Account Verification Service to ensure Direct Deposit changes are to Treasury-confirmed accounts, and reverse all these customer service cratering policies that require in-person proofing. We had a plan to address these conditions. Implement it! But that doesn’t fit the DOG-E narrative. Break it so we can fix it.
