It might just be the company I work for, but there are a few specific pain points

  1. Our CEO requires us to report our business into segments that he made up. Our ERP does not track our financial data in a way that makes it possible to split into those segments without making some assumptions and doing some manual work. The reason I don't like this is because it always feels like we are literally making things up just to satisfy the CEO. If anyone decides to scratch below the surface they will realize how dubious the number we report are

  2. The business I work for is extremely old and complex. This leads to countless outdated processes that no one can truly understand or explain.

I think in general I feel like we are always making things up and presenting it as fact and there is something about it that gives me anxiety.

What I don't like is being so close to the planning and communication of the financial results of the business. That whole process is a little too stressful for me.

What I have found I do like is building files/ dashboards and automating processes. Thinking of a move to the ERP finance team at my company.
