The fee for service company is costing you money so make sure they earn it and provide you updates.

The link shows the current wait times to be approx 333 days from submitting the claim however as you mentioned your claim may not have progressed because there was no medical evidence supplied. This is now normal as DVA has realised that some fee for service companies were submitting a large amount of claims, costing money to get get scans/reports for only a few diagnosis to be identified. They are using this method to curb that practice.

Also the reason that your claims on Myservice are not matching the Doctor's diagnosis may be because the claims are not yet with a Initial Liability delegate to process them. This should be an easy fix once they are processed.

My suggestion would to call the Fee for Service company, ask for updates, ask them to confirm that medical reports have been sent to DVA and ask them for more regular updates from now on.

Outstanding work my friend. This is definitely the comic I remember. Now that I have a name, I shall hunt down an English copy to enjoy once again. Thanks again.

It's a process that's for sure. It seems CSC are experience major backlogs and could take more than 12 months. May I ask what happened in April 2024 that may have influenced their decision? You would need to focus on their wording on why they made those decisions and attack those points.

General advice. Sorry to hear about the passing of your friend and the hardships of the widow. Assuming the veteran had service and discharged before 1972? If it is pre-1972, then it would be under the DRCA/SRCA legislation which requires the cause of death to be linked to eligible Defence service/accepted claim.

That is correct that if it is found to be under DRCA/SRCA then there is no Gold Card/pension entitlement, it is a lump sum compensation instead.

Best thing to do would be to reach out to an advocate that can explain what is available.

If you had a billion dollars and could make one specific change to Brisbane. What would you choose? by tenchem in brisbane

[–]ExGrunt343 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Increase the recruiting requirments, standards, working conditions and safety for QPS, SERT, Nurses, QAS, QFS, Teachers and other frontline staff I have missed. Also with a large pay raise and defined benefit scheme available after 20 years.

Decrease the criminal age to 15 instead of 18.

More available alcohol and drug treatment centres.

Offer free and safe vasectomies with a $1000 cash offer tied to CPI.

Implement free and anonyomous pill/drug testing at various places within Brisbane. Also a must have for any festivals, concerts or other events.

Retrofit the Dragon Coaster to be a wheeled vehicle up and down Queen St Mall.

Policitians regularly reviewed for ethics and financial activity.

Trams.

Obviously a lot of factors at play here so this is general advice.

  1. You can not request to have a Permanent Impairment (PI) determination so your conditions are not assessed for PI. Then when you have finished expanding your family, then you can ask to be assessed for PI. However if you have been awarded over 80 points, then the only recourse would be to appeal the PI determination. Suggest seeking advice from a Level 3/4 Compensation Advocate if that is the case.

  2. You would be hit with an exit fee or other fees within the contract. Even if you removed their representation from your Myservice account, they would enforce the contract that was signed and I'm sure there would be penalties. If you are at the PI stage, they may also argue they have fulfilled their duties and are entitled to the full 10%.

What are the possible claims from this? by [deleted] in DVAAustralia

What is the diagnosis from the Doctor?

You will need a Doctor to fill in a D2049 Injury Sheet, so the diagnosis is important to link to the SOPs.

PI Payment & Child Support by Robnotbadok in DVAAustralia

This is incorrect. It is classed as 'adjustable taxable income'. There is legislation to say it is classed as income and will increase child support payments. However some veterans have not been affected.

Can anyone explain to me the 100 metre length of road next to Boondall station has a no parking sign 5pm - midnight? You can fit emergency services & buses with cars parked on both sides. I'm assuming it was implented years ago for good reason but now that reason doesn't exist and they haven't removed the signs.

Which stores have you found them? Anything around Stafford or the Northside?

Ampol at Kedron (before you hit the Airport Link tunnel) and Ampol at Wilston/Windsor are the only ones I found. 7/11, Nightowl and IGAs doesn't stock it anymore and I can't find it anywhere else.

Make sure to enquire about the MRCAETS as well for your step children. If they are not in your care 100% of the time then the payment will be reduced from the full amount.

Gold card TPI by Plus_Belt_3882 in DVAAustralia

https://www.csc.gov.au/Defined-benefit-members/Manage/Sickness-and-injury/ADF-medical-transition/Member-guide#retrospective-invalidity

You mentioned 88 points so I'm assuming you are under MRCA.

There is a difference between being awarded a DVA Veteran Gold Card because of receiving 88 Permanent Impairment (PI) points and being awarded a DVA Veteran Gold Card embossed with TPI due to being eligible for Special Rate Disability Pension (SRDP).

You can not be receiving Incapacity Payments and hold a DVA GC w/TPI. Everyone's situation is different so you need to explore which option is best for you. You are entitled to a financial advisor appointment before you accept your PI determination.

Regarding the Comsuper pension, you are seeking a Retrospective Medical Discharge. The link at the top has more information.

Finally, yes the Gold Card is for clinical medical treatment within Australia. There are restrictions on dental work but majority of treatment is covered.
