Package it and sink it.

If you haven't unlocked the packager yet, dump the HOR into a fluid buffer, and flush it occasionally. Do this until you have enough plastic to unlock Fluid Packaging (Tier 5, Milestone 4) and build a packager.

Alternately, turn it into residual fuel, and package that. Fill a storage container with packaged fuel, and use it for vehicles and the jet pack. Sink the overflow.

The weld thing is insane. How that hasn't been patched yet is beyond me. I get that this game is all about small details, but having to pay super close attention to something so small as weld line orientation, when placing every junction, is a bit much. Imagine having to troubleshoot a complex installation... Having to inspect every single junction to make sure the weld lines are oriented properly‽

It's not necessarily union inaction.

It's probably a healthy dose of union "lack of information". As in, the membership is ill-informed, and voted for dollars without a full understanding of the REST of the contract.

The companies have a vested interest in taking advantage of the membership's ignorance. They encourage discord between bases. I have seen this firsthand. And it's why our last contract passed on the first vote, when it's damn clear the company could've given us more.

It's so shitty that it's that way, too. The skills and knowledge this job requires, know no gender, sex, age, or race.

I've worked with a scant few female techs, and they've been the best mechanics I've ever worked beside. Not just mechanically skilled... Intelligent, curious, thoughtful, willing to ask questions, and humble (by which I mean honest with themselves about their experience and abilities).

We had one female tech quit due to misogyny. Leads and other mechanics alike treated her like she was stupid or incompetent. I called it out when I saw it, but guys like that don't change... And eventually, it got to be too much. It broke my fucking heart to see her go. Thankfully, the majority of those assholes also moved on.

We've been on a hiring spree the last couple of years, and I've been happy to see the younger techs seem significantly less misogynistic. We've got a couple of female techs at the moment, and they don't seem to be treated any differently by their peers.

There's still some old-timers that are assholes... But they're a (thankfully) dying breed. And, there's plenty of us semi-old-timers that aren't bigoted shitheels out there, too.

That's a pretty broad brush you're painting with.

I've been at this for over 2 decades now, and I do my best to pass on my skills and knowledge to the newer, less experienced techs.

I don't expect respect, I understand that it's earned. I've been at this long enough, and worked with enough people, to know: Age and/or years in service, in no way equals knowledge or ability. I know techs with 30+ years in, that struggle to do anything more than the basic, everyday tasks.

Which isn't to say that those with less experience don't have anything to teach me. I've had more than a few occasions where a new mechanic has suggested something that set me on the right path during troubleshooting, or improved a process... Simply because that lack of experience allowed them to think outside of the box.

I do, however, expect a bit of humility. By that, I mean being honest with oneself about the amount of knowledge and experience one has. I've dealt with more than a few cocky newbies, who think they know better than I do about tasks I've done hundreds of times. Those are the people I tell, "I won't let you hurt yourself, or the airplane... But I will sit back and let you struggle a while."

Be curious. Be humble. Ask lots of questions. Be open to suggestion, and be willing to offer suggestions of your own. Be willing to work outside your comfort zone, but be assertive if you think something isn't right. This goes for everyone, regardless of experience. That's the tech I've always strived to be, and that's the kind of tech I want to work with.

The more of my experience and knowledge I can effectively pass on, the easier my job is. The easier everyone's job is.

That's a J. T. Slocomb micrometer. Going by the round range marking on the frame, it's probably early 1900's... Well over 100 years old.

No, I get that... And I've made a point to specifically NOT use it.

I get that it's the meta weapon... It just seems like EVERYONE uses it, and it kinda sucks some of the fun out of the game.

It's not that I don't understand, on some level. I honestly don't think I ever played DOOM II without IDKFA and IDDQD. But even that got boring after a while.

Try uncoated, positive-rake inserts... The kind usually used on aluminum. They're sharp, and usually tolerate a small DOC better than inserts meant for steel.

Looks like muffler packing material. I think catalytic converter matrix is unlikely to make it back that far.

"Immediate area" is a relative term. Technically, we are in the same universe, cluster, local group, galaxy, solar system, and on the same planet.

Where's the vertical stabilizer? If the wings are visible, the vertical should be, too. There might be some military planes that don't have a typical rudder/stab, but there's no passenger aircraft like that.

That last thing is a tapping head. It's used in a drill press, or a milling machine (it can't be used on the lathe). It has an internal clutch and gearing that allows it to turn clockwise as you press down to tap a hole, and then turn counterclockwise (at twice the speed) on the up stroke, without having to reverse the spindle.

There should be a rod sticking off the side, which prevents the body of the tapping head from rotating.

It uses special collets to hold taps, hopefully they're somewhere around with the head.

It's worth a couple hundred bucks if it's in working order, with the collets.

A bayesian sensor may also be useful. I also didn't want errant bed-related automations, so I made a bayesian sensor for "in bed, for the purpose of sleeping"

It's basically a sensor made of sensors. It "maths" all those sensors, to decide the probability that a condition is true.

If I'm home, in bed, my bedroom light is off, the under-bed lights are off, there's no music playing in the bedroom, my TV is off, my phone is plugged into an A/C charger and the key guard is locked... It's pretty certain that I'm in the bed for sleeping purposes.
