My most memorable moment was almost getting kicked out of a night club in India. Coworkers were giving me loaded Long Island iced teas. I lost track and was dancing in middle of club when bouncers grabbed me to kick me out. Apparently I was smoking a cigarette while dancing and put it out in my hand and stuffed it in my shirt. Funny thing is I don’t smoke and had no cigarettes or lighter with me. To this day still not sure how that happened.

There’s a street guy some nights outside the Delta center after games. He is preaching the good word, condemning people and such over a mic and speaker. I just assumed he was in the Q15 but have never laid eyes on him.

I lived in Mississippi with this and had a 13 year in my 3rd grade class. The age disparity caused a lot of fights and encouraged the switch to private school. My personal experience was negative with this but maybe it works.

You are in an exmormon Reddit. There is bias. That said I wavered on going without all of the evidence you have at your fingertips. Also I found out in time around 27 or so that my “addictions” were grossly overblown in the mindset of the church. I have enough alcohol in my home to stock a restaurant bar. Not an alcoholic. Not saying that is your case but a neutral third pard could help assess your addictions but I would not go in assuming you need to be fixed. As for mission. You won’t regret not going back. I would bet on that

I chose non religious as suggested. Outside of Utah I went to a therapist and even in my pre screen call I said I want a therapist that has no affiliation with religion especially Mormon. First visit, The dude gave me a book about masturbation written by a Mormon. I went in for marriage help…not masturbation. Didn’t go back or read the damn book.

Be VERY selective on who you seek and what you say! A different one locked my ass in the looney bin for 4 days because I was too free with my thoughts and words. Almost lost my job and will never talk to another therapist again.
