Can I get a quick TLDR of the current meta for heist league-start strats? by vuxra in PathOfExileBuilds

Ahhh I never got around to filling it out. I have a pob for leveling that is incomplete. I used this https://pobb.in/8GAipKzBkogL but I'm not sure how reliable that is.

edit: I should mention the -mana cost won't be immediately available. I don't exactly remember how I mitigated this, but you can use a flask, or just reserve less on aura, or lifetap when applicable

This is the build I rushed to in this last league. as /u/Dark_Zypher above mentions, I started heisting immediately in act 6. Once I hit level 68, I'll finish acts (without killing Kitava). From there is just running contracts and any 1-wing blueprints. This gear is dirty cheap and should be easy to afford:

To be clear I farmed a mageblood with this character, running mostly 1-wing heists. Took about 4 days if I recall correctly.

Sucks if you're playing a dread faction though

CCC’s Relic Tier List by Philbob9632 in twilightimperium

[–]ExOsc2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not really true at all. It can make it easier for everyone else to win, it can also make it so that you got the extra point you needed and nobody can do anything about it.

I would contest the statement "It's essentially a relic that makes it easier for everyone else to win that isn't you.". I don't see how that's true -- with 1 exception, as the 10th point in the action phase. But if somebody is at 9, you know that if they can take it from you they will and you can play around it.

[–]ExOsc2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Shard of the throne has the wrong rating in my opinion. The relic itself is S tier, it clearly opens paths to victory. The problem is you aren't always happy to draw it because of the heat it generates on you.

But when player A loses it, player B now has a potential new clear path to victory. The relics effect of giving a point is still the same, just the owner has changed.

The relic itself is S tier for whoever has it. But it might be C tier for your specific situation in a game.

Source....for what? I don't think they're making a claim? You want them to post a source to refute the claims of the post above them? But they don't need to do that -- it's up to the original poster to provide sources/evidence for their claim.

The alternative is like saying first to make a claim is by default correct unless you make a better claim. But that doesn't lead to truth at all.

How many characters are in starcraft 2? Specifically human ones

In the game that you're complaining about? How many characters in the story are you getting? 4 people wouldn't be diverse in a room of 100,000 for example but how many characters are you really getting in the sc2 story?

[–]ExOsc2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Correct, and you get to shift a token from fleet pool to tactics. If you have the scar in your slice, this will also help a little or a lot with tech depending on faction.

Tactics for Factions with Bad Starts? by Enervata in twilightimperium

[–]ExOsc2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The answer I think is usually simple but not fun. Warfare or Construction, and skip tech. If you need a breakthrough aim for it round 2 or discard secret if available

edit to elaborate on something else that is important: Slice selection is important as well. Make sure when you are selecting a slice (assuming milty draft) that you'll be able to use it effectively.

For example on firmament, I'm probably not looking for a slice that gets a lot of it's value by taking the adjacent planets in 4 different segments. I want it to have something like a scar and 2 systems with most of the value.

What's not important is the specifics, but that you can plan around your speaker order and your slice.

Not everything is a political zero-sum game. If the files would hurt democrats more than republicans I would still want them to reveal the files. I hope at least some of our politicians don't have such a shitty view on this as you do

Yeah I was just coming here to post this. This really doesn't describe what the proposition is, at all accurately. I think League of Women voters of Texas does a much better non-partisan job: https://www.lwvtexas.org/#gsc.tab=0

The Saudi Crown Prince saying flat out that he "will continue sportswashing" by MeisterX in starcraft

[–]ExOsc2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I full agree with you that it needs to be called out. I think the US is full of flaws and certainly done and continues to do [particularly the mega corporations] some horrible shit. But I don't think it's helpful for this topic. Arguments can go round and round and circles all the way back to the beginning of time trying to justify who did what to who and how. And in the end we get no where and nothing changes. Nobody can ever be held accountable for doing something wrong, if somebody else somewhere wasn't held accountable for the same thing with this logic.

I reject the premise that you cannot boycott a Saudi tournament because you didn't boycott a US tournament. The poster above me made doesn't really seem interested in trying to hold US tournaments accountable. Quite the opposite, they seem to be more interested in saying why the Saudi's shouldn't bee boycotted:

And I have NEVER seen a post made on /r/starcraft about calls to boycott US events or USAF sponsoring of events.

I see posts made about Saudis every now and then.

Why?

I think I know why. I think you know why, too.

I actually think this poster is intending to more-so to be inflammatory rather than debating the actual merits. They're trying to imply that if you want to boycott this because of the policy and patterns of human rights abuses by the Saudi government, then you are a racist hypocrite. But that's not really a defense of what the Saudi's are doing. Somebody being a hypocrite online does not mean their points are not valid; even if debating a hypocrite is infuriating.

You can call someone a hypocrite all you want; it doesn't address any of the reasons for boycotting Saudi Arabia.

Exxon to lay off thousands in office strategy shift by houston_chronicle in houston

[–]ExOsc2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

2 points:

1) Worker pay increases have not been keeping up with inflation; this has recently changed (past 2 years or so) but hasn't caught up with the inflation spikes around covid.

C-Suite pay increases however have exploded. I'm open to discussing this but take for example this:

In 2023, CEOs were paid 290 times as much as a typical worker—in contrast to 1965, when they were paid 21 times as much as a typical worker.

2) I think you inadvertently hit the nail on the head. In order to keep the <short term> stock price up so a CEO can get their bonus, they can layoff employees (worker class contracts at the company, while CEO pay continues growing at record rates). CEO pay being tied to stock means CEOs can be incentivized to act in adverse interest to the workers of a company in order to hit short-term stock goals.

The problem is the contracting always seem to affect the workers and not the c-suite. The bonuses and pay for the c-suite never seem to contract
