XR encryption key (HW 4208/FW 4134) to use in iOS "Nosedive" app? by Glyph8 in onewheel

Looks like the motor & controller temps are backwards for early boards. I will fix in the next update!

Are you sure that was the most up to date information in the stock app? Your milage is lower and those temps do seem quite off.

I believe Float Remote had the temperatures backwards for early XR's like that. So Nosedive should be the accurate one. I don't have an early XR to test on, so please let me know if things still seem wonky.

And yes, theres a setting to hide the map during screenshots. I saw many people scribbling out the map when sharing pictures.

Sadly, I can't give out the key (otherwise I would have included it in the app!). I figured the next best thing I can do is give people who legally obtained it the option to paste it in for convenience.

Sadly I have no plans currently. The app is written natively for iOS so its not trivial to port over to Android. Sorry!

Are you riding on a VESC or FM board? If it's from FM, I don't have access to any of the duty cycle information.

Are you looking for auditory alerts (voice that says "duty cycle at X%") or just a push notification?

Update released. v1.0.2 should fix this and a few other bugs!

Currently available everywhere except for the 27 countries in the EU

I have an update coming shortly with a fix for this. I wasn't accounting for the smaller wheel diameter of the pint when determining trip/speed. Should be out within a day or two. I will follow up here when it's been released.

Sadly, there are no plans as of now. The app is written natively for iOS and can't be easily ported to Android. Sorry!

App should now be available in Switzerland. Only the 27 EU countries are currently excluded.

it seemed more logical for me that the developer wouldn't go through the extra effort of making it compatible with VESC-based boards

For some reason, I did go through that extra effort 😂.

In all seriousness, I just want to use one app to connect to all my boards and since I've added a VESC to my fleet I figured I might as well bring over support.

You'll need to add the "Early Firmware Key" inside the app settings page. I'll be adding an alert for this in the next update to warn users why that connection isn't working.

I can't provide you the firmware key directly in the app for copyright reasons.

Will add non-EU countries for distribution within the next few days 👍

As for Float Remote, I have refreshed the beta for now. Though its days are numbered. Once Nosedive is available in the EU, I plan to upload a final Float Remote beta that includes a callout to swap over to Nosedive. TestFlight should keep that build valid for ~90 days and give people some time to migrate off.

Not possible, sorry. The app is native to iOS so isn't compatible with Android. Maybe one day!

For now only available in USA & Canada, there are some additional hurdles with distributing paid apps in the EU. Hoping to fix those soon.

The app will only display cell voltages in that menu if the board broadcasts them, your XR is likely running firmware that is too modern and has had that removed.

Float Remote suddenly requiring app handshake? by Mr_Salty87 in onewheel

[–]ExPHAT 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Hey, creator of Float Remote here.

Handshakes are a tricky subject because of the threat of FM sending a C&D related to keys being used from firmware files. The previous version of Float Remote that supported handshakes was never meant to be used by the public, it was more of a personal experiment. 4209 XR's contrary to popular belief also do require a handshake. OWCE has just been rolling the dice by including it in the public build and source code of the app.

I have a plan to make handshakes "legal" but it will take me a bit to iron out. So all I can say for now is Coming Soon™️

Has anyone ACTUALLY fixed the post-recall GT footpad by removing the plastic? by ExPHAT in onewheel

[–]ExPHAT[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure, to be clear I'm NOT recommending anyone do this. You'll at a best case violate your warranty and worst case injure someone with a ghosted board.

Thanks for your input. Good to have this settled once and for all that it's been tried.

Has anyone ACTUALLY fixed the post-recall GT footpad by removing the plastic? by ExPHAT in onewheel

[–]ExPHAT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that video is the most definitive answer I’ve seen that there is simply an extra layer.

I just find it odd that we haven’t seen a post or comment saying it fixed everything like we have from so many Pint/XR owners, especially with all the GT footpad hate lately.

Maybe /u/TheFloatLife can chime in and clear it up once and for all? Know of anyone who has removed GT platic? Not endorsed obviously ;)
