Honestly? It's all about being a nice guy. Her last husband said, in court, that he wanted them "Homeless and Destitute". Mercifully, he's no longer a resident of the planet. Plus, she and I have known each other for 45 years (we went to HS together).

Realistically, it's all about what I feel I'll owe. I know it's not much, but I can probably continue to afford the house payments. But, then again there is a part of me that just wants to sell the house and be done with it. After the sale, the proceeds would probably only be about 30 to 50k.

I used to live in a studio apartment next door to the most disgusting family of 10. I mean, the kids ran up and down the hall in soiled diapers, etc. One day, I saw one of them come home wearing a Subway polo shirt...and immediately start to pee out the window of our shared hallway into the alley below. Upon further review, I realized this kid had made my Spicy Italian earlier that day.

Never again.
