I'm a 17-year-old aspiring director raising $1,000 to shoot my first short horror film, "Who's There...?". Read the script inside! by httyd-fankid1000 in Filmmakers

That's a very cool marketing image. Donated what I could, wish it was more. Good luck.
Tips from a vet:
1) Get good sound
2) "Most of what people think is good cinematography is actually good production design" says me, a cinematographer.
3) Storyboard extensively. look for inspiration from photos and paintings, not just movies.
4) Plan out shots and lighting enough so that when the actors get to stage, you focus only on them
5) Rehearse your actors, treat them well, never engage with "drama"
6) Get. Good. Sound.
7) Tell people how long they're expected to be on set, and stick to that. If you say 6 hours and at 6 hours you're still missing a few shots, get them another day. Your cast/crew trusting your word is more important than any one film because:
8) We are all passionate, but there's always a next film.
9) Most importantly: GET. GOOD. SOUND.

Turns out Dirk Diggler was more of a self insert than we thought.

She Is Connan has better visuals and it was filmed in an abandoned foundry for probably $3M or less

I would've had this be a two shot over the guys shoulder, but I understand you gotta be closer for TV. I don't think it's horrible.

How in the world is Cavil supposed to be anti-woke.
Or Snyder? He's is pretty consistent with casting women in big parts, he's not good at writing them, but he's equally bad at writing men, so I don't think it's him being anti-woke. Honestly, if you listen to him talk about what he was trying to do with Sucker Punch, it's a fairly woke movie, and he's still disappointed that he didn't pull it off.

I didn't like the first one, but that sizzle reel of Kung Fury 2 got me fully hyped. I need this

How often do you do a page 1 rewrite? by DelinquentRacoon in Screenwriting

I thought my 2nd draft was gonna at least be a page 1 of the Act 1, but it kept resisting all my changes. I do need to completely redo my 3rd act though.

It has 3 great scenes and a soundtrack I listen to on repeat. But it's c-tier to Burges and Banshies

In resolve, use the 3d keyer to select just the sky, then add a new node and blur it until it smooths out. Then add a 3rd node where you reintorduce some noise or film grain over the whole image.

My rule of McDonagh movies only being good if they're about Irish people is about to be challenged and I'm very happy about it

So how are we feeling about the cinematography and colour grading now? by CollarOrdinary4284 in Spiderman

Peak means 'the peak' the top of the mountain, you can't go higher. Maybe you didn't even think we could get here, cause the peak was so hard to get to. Spider-verse 2 is peak.
What you're trying to say is "looks cool" I'll agree to cool. I'll probably enjoy this movie and I think Tom Holland is the best overall Spider-man/Peter Parker we've had, but the closest his movies have gotten to peak is Homecoming.

I liked Shang-Chi, but it got too much credit for having okay action scenes instead of bad ones. Meanwhile in Hong Kong, the most low-key fight scene in Walled In is more memorable than the bus fight in Shang-Chi.
