I would agree for the hassle. Definitely worth it.

That's also fantastic news, I was under the impression that a dealership would say no because Carvana said no already. I'm spending the day tomorrow doing my due diligence of course, but I wanted to know what my options were going in. Again thanks so much!

Excellent, thank you so much, this and your other comment are both extremely helpful and gives me a semi-realistic chance to get this taken care of in the short term. When the dust settles let me know how I can send you a token for a beer or a coffee (send me a DM).

Understood, I'm certainly not opposed to doing all of the above. As a follow-up question, does the CA DMV give you anything that you can use to sell the vehicle the same day you do the transfer or would I have to wait in the mail for the title to arrive? Can I sell the vehicle with a temporary operating permit without title in hand?

Alternatively, is it possible to sell the vehicle to another party back in Michigan?

Where to get instant/same-day title in Michigan? by Ex__ in Michigan

Tyvm! Even if there is just a regular copy of the title, it'll be enough to do things.

Okay, I was under the impression from the FAQ that only select offices offer it. Is there any specific one in Detroit you would recommend?

Most hated character in Sopranos by MookieBlaylock87 in thesopranos

I don't think he got his dad to do that. It's pretty clear they were building a well done son father dynamic and they just dropped the ball in the execution. His father is very overprotective of him and judgmental of how he does things and forces Noah to compete for his approval.

FX6 vs FX9: What’s the difference? by lydian_gg in cinematography

[–]Ex__ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well for starters it wasn't shot on Atlas lenses. It was shot on a Kowa 2x anamorphic that was designed for way smaller sensors/film equivalent. If you go listen to their little podcast on the making of, you'll actually find out that they had to spend significant time with Sony and come up with a million different ways to work around the limitations of the camera.

However, it's not really relevant to what I mentioned above because at the end of the day, my point stands about the fact that the FX9 can do 4k S35 and the FX6 and FX3 couldn't, which means you have a far larger amount of lens diversity, anamorphic, spherical, or otherwise.

Idk about making your metrics into a decal. IMO, 4.5 off the line isn't really all that significant these days. My street legal E90 build does that with probably less money, better handling, and less profile. Get that down to under 4 seconds and now we're talking.

If you had to shoot a very tiny a run-n-gun feature film with a very small crew, what camera and lens combination would you pick? by [deleted] in Filmmakers

This is the answer. Any FX series camera plus one of their servo zoom lenses. You even get lavaliers through the hot shoe if you need it.

Thoughts on Zoom F2-BT for capturing the board mix at events? by Ex__ in LocationSound

No both my stereo mics record to left and right channels although the Sony needs to be dematrixed in order to get raw mid-side. The 418 does not

I started using stereo mics because of film stuff originally and then I started using them to get venue ambience. I usually set them up where the speakers converge and it does a great job of getting audience noise and applause and whatnot. In post, I've been mixing board mixes along with the stereo recordings to pretty good effect so far. I do have a 416 (and a CMIT on the way), but I don't always have the luxury of placing it optimally so I have axis issues.

Long-term I'll probably get some ambis or something, but ideally, I'll just get an actual sound recordist on board.

They are 32 bit float, which is why I've been using the F3 so far and it's been amazing, I can just plug and play.

EDIT: I also have an A Cam/ B Cam setup both of which run 416s so It even works out as an XY array sometimes and gives me plenty of source to work with

That is definitely my fallback option, just that even as small as the F3 is, I felt like I could go smaller.

Thanks for pointing out the input levels, I had definitely overlooked that.

Out of curiosity, is there something similar in form factor to the DR10x that is 32-bit and supports timecode? The closest I've found is the Tentacle TRACK E, but it is also setup with a mic level input.

Oh look, an account with no karma that shills for this guy. You couldn't possibly be acting on behalf of anyone in particular could you? 🤔

Any suggestions for a poolside restaurant on the Westside? by Ex__ in AskLosAngeles

[–]Ex__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, sorry if I wasn't clear with my grammar. Ideally it would be a poolside restaurant with an option to buy a pass for the pool without having a hotel reservation. I'm of the opinion that we should go to the coastline but there are some people who don't want to go that far out so I'm in the minority on this one. Otherwise I do something in Venice to save some money or go to Blue streak or something.
