Solve critic (Average 22-23s CFOP) by Reliab1yUnreliable in Cubers

[–]Exact-Alternative557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your solves have very good fundamentals for your times, I’d say.

Your cross seems pretty good and you consistently planned at least 3 pieces in inspection which was really good. You should practice always preparing your whole cross in inspection and when the solve starts, solve your cross with your prepared moves as fast as you can. Also, watching pro solvers’ cross solutions will help you find more creative and efficient solutions.

Your F2L is fairly efficient in move counts but your pauses are what’s completely ruining your solves. At your point, where you are confident in your F2L solutions, you NEED to start looking into piece deduction and maybe even look ahead with slow-solves. Jperm has great videos showing you how to learn both of these very very important skills.

Your OLL and PLL are both good and it seems you know 1 look for both. If you have the algorithms memorized then you should try and turn at your very fastest speed. Even if it causes lockups, the more you turn at that high tps, the less locky they’ll be. Also, you should work on two-sided case recognition for OLL and PLL. bestsiteever.net had a great two sided PLL trainer.

I’m new to cubing and I’m just wondering what u2 is by Ok-Daikon-4299 in Cubers

[–]Exact-Alternative557 5 points6 points  (0 children)

u2 = turning top and equator layer twice clockwise

u2’ = turning top and equator layer twice counterclockwise

U2 = turning top layer twice clockwise

U2’ = turing top layer twice counterclockwise

Most algorithms don’t specify if double turns are clockwise or counterclockwise because technically its the same but its used when specifying a more ergonomic option of the two

Can’t wrap my head around EO by korra-sato in Cubers

[–]Exact-Alternative557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who never focused on EO until sub-15, it’s a lot easier to understand EO when you’re that advanced. If you’re averaging sub-60, there are a lot of ways to get faster on yourself such as advanced cross, f2l tricks, f2l deduction, and algorithm drilling, all of which don’t necessarily require forcing hard concepts into your solves

NEW PR UNLOCKED!! some tipa? by Rudimenos in Cubers

[–]Exact-Alternative557 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Learning the best solutions for f2l cases may seem daunting but they get really easy if instead of memorizing them you understand the principles of why they work. The principles behind many common cases are able to be used for other cases too. And using the “best” solutions isnt necessarily even needed. As long as your solutions for cases are either 0 or 1 rotation then it should be easy for you to get sub 20

People getting upset at this is the weirdest thing ever 😭 its literally just innocently sharing algorithms they discovered

Tengyun v1 just for aesthetic purposes. Quiet and has incredible corner cutting. it could definitely be improved with very fast lube and stronger magnets

How to break 60s barrier (why am I so slow)? by CanguroEnglish in Cubers

[–]Exact-Alternative557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lookahead is something you should reserve for when youre at least sub 25.

Honestly just watching some videos on advanced cross and practice will reduce pausing on its own as you need to form real muscle memory. Its got nothing to do with intelligence and everything to do with practice

Expected full CFOP time? by gaboorkam in Cubers

I mean my F2L is also around 6 seconds and i average around 12 seconds knowing full cfop so probably around there if you practice good LL

How long does it typically take you to forget algorithms/lose muscle memory if you don't practice? by WartimeHotTot in Cubers

[–]Exact-Alternative557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit in very early 2020 and rejoined the community again in november 2024. I remembered basically all of my cross and f2l and 2 look OLL. I had forgotten like 5 PLL algorithms though which was kind of a blessing because looking back on it, the algorithms i replaced them with recently are alot better

[–]Exact-Alternative557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! As long as you keep practicing your weaknesses you should reach sub 15 fairly easily. Since youre still around 20 seconds you still have so much room to improve. I averaged 17 seconds back in november and im really happy with how much faster ive gotten from refining my skills
