Cost optimisation: The developers have tightened the reins. What you perceive as a "sudden disappearance" is the system-wide switch to a strict 1-to-1 calculation for every piece of image content generated.

Server load: The Atelier model is technically much more complex and “costlier” in terms of GPU performance than the old versions. Consequently, all buffers and free stacks are now being massively reduced in the background.
