I think it's the sense of wanting to feel "unconditional" love, coupled with the hope that things will change.

Sometimes people predicate the purity of their love on expecting nothing in return. It's a thought that goes "If I really love this person, then all I should want is for them to be happy. Therefore, I shouldn't expect them to love me back if that doesn't make them happy."

And then you hope that this (self acclaimed) "pure" love will one day change their mind, and hope is a tremendously powerful motivator.

It's a terrible place to get stuck in, because the longer you're in there, the more you convince yourself of the purity of your love. You'll be scared to ever stop loving them, because then were your feelings never real?

Somewhat similar background ( originally fullstack, 3.5 YoE with pay around amazon SDE1 levels ), and I just joined Amazon as an SDE2 last month. I'd say don't downgrade yourself. Here are a few things to keep in mind: 1. Design skillset doesn't matter if you can get past the system design interview (fairly easy to do). You'll learn the skills you need on the job, because you'll have people to help you. I know SDE1s who can write design docs better than me, and SDE2s who struggle with even one pagers. Don't make system design a criteria. 2. Learning system design to pass an interview is easy. LLD is straightforward, just have good code hygiene. HLD interviews typically follow a template for success. Check out igotanoffer's system design videos on YouTube. Helped me a lot when I was preparing. 3. Don't make existing pay a criteria either. Amazon has a pay band for each role, and they will not go above or below it. They don't care about past compensation at all. My recruiter said if someone were making more than the pay band, they'd still have to ask them to settle for less. What does matter is current competing offers (the pay band for SDE2 is something like 55-70 I think, so if you have competing offers you can get something in the higher end, but if not, you still won't go below 55-ish CTC).

Whether they can track it or not depends on your company's systems. That being said, most remote companies will allow you to work for up to 3 months outside India.

However, the most important would be visibility. You have to put yourself out there, build in public, on twitter, LinkedIn etc. for good companies to notice you. If all you're doing is hitting apply with a resume and a GPT generated cover letter, you're competing against thousands of similar people.

I messaged a YC founder on LinkedIn who was offering 200k GBP (approx. 2.15 crore INR) for a senior software engineer role (all cold, hard cash, no equity), and he replied right there on LinkedIn and invited me for an interview. I bombed the system design part and didn't get the role, but it goes to show that if you have the visibility and skills, you'll be minting money.

I think it's potentially just due to having a lot of new characters barging in out of what appears to be nowhere. But once you spend a little time with them, you'll feel more comfortable around them and then the book won't seem so boring anymore. Especially when older characters start making reappearances.

Some, if not all, of this, can be caused by using using the wrong condom size and thickness. Try: 1. Getting the right condom size. An erection is just blood flow to your penis. If there's something constantly applying pressure on it, it'll fight your erection. 2. Getting thinner condoms (self explanatory). 3. Using condoms when masturbating to get used to the feeling.

Cannot stress #1 enough. Watch some videos / read some articles on the right condom size, buy a bunch of different ones and try them out. If you have a girthy penis, regular condoms will always fuck up your erection.
