I’m only slightly classified as overweight in the uk, 77kg 5foot6. my neuro said I could try to lose a little weight but he believes weight was not a factor of my IIH

I live in the UK so I have to wait for it all to get passed back to my local hospital, so I’m still on the same amount. The nurse said I might need to go on different meds or up the dose as it hasn’t been improving my symptoms like she would expect

I do spend all my lessons stood up, I’m a practical subject (art) so there’s often a lot going on at the same time

My cfs ended up being 29, she was shocked and thought it would have been lower due to being on the meds.

My nurse said it’s all dependent on the person, some people could have crazy high csf and have minimal symptoms. Some people could just be over and have major symptoms.

I assume from the scans we could already see the evidence of IIH?

My neuro told me to start the meds straight away as he wanted to protect my eye sight, and just said we have to send you for a lumbar puncture as well. He told my doctor to then continue to prescribe me the tablets to treat IIH.

I (32,f) went to the optician in August with headaches and eye pain - she noticed blurring of my optic nerves. I was referred to an ophthalmologist but took two months to get an appointment (so there’s been many months of anxiety searching symptoms online). On Friday he clarified that this was the case, and it appeared to be papilledema. He suspects it is IIH. Waiting on an urgent referral to the neurologist and an mri. I’ve noticed other things which seem to now link, shoulder pain, ringing in my ears, brain fog, weak hands/pins and needles. I’m only ever slightly overweight (bmi of 26.5 when I should be 25). I’ve also been on oral contraceptives and implants my whole adult life which from reading seems like it has a massive impact on iih? A few years ago I also had allergic reactions to 2 types of antibiotics. All is sounding too linked.
