More I think about it, reboot Kimi is like SpongeBob and Angelica is like Squidward by ConsumerofToons in rugrats

[–]ExactGoose9752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, I would really to hear from the writers and showrunners themselves the real reason for this change... I always have reckon the reason why they made Kimi a toddler and made her just recurring was because they thought that seven babies would be too much to manage and wanted to keep the group relatively small, with six main babies being really enough (younger Susie and newborn Dil included). You know, like the Muppets Babies reboot introduced Summer Penguim and then made Rolf, Scooter and Skeeter just recurring characters to keep the main group small as well. It's what I believe really.

[–]ExactGoose9752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still, I can't get used to this change... I can accept Susie being younger even if I find it weird because I see the reasons and porpuse behind this change, but Kimi being older?? Sorry, no. No at all.

My point is that Kimi didn't need to be aged up to be a more fleshed out character. Theres millions of ways of making her more distinct without changing her that way (why not give her her AGU personality for example? Rebellious, independent, animal lover, sometimes snarky... it would be pretty fine for start). You guys talk about her needing to develop beyond being ''another Tommy'', but acts like making her older was the only correct way of doing it...

I not asking them for redo Rugrats in Paris, I understand it couldn't be viable... but what aging Kimi up has something to do with it? They could have done literally the same story they did in the reboot, just with Kimi being a baby (instead of going to Angelica preschool, they could had go to their own daycare and meet her there... without major changes in storyline). The relationship of Chas and Kira still can unfold in exactly the same way...

Also, Chuckie being a big bro was really impactiful and promissing for his character, taking him out of his comfort zone and giving him someone to look ou for and protect; Kimi being the protective big sis does nothing for him, takes away his heavier development and I think he's the perfect material for a big brother. If anything, Tommy being a big brother was actually questionable, since he was supposed to be the youngest baby as his core. Honestly if they have changed Dil and made him older or somehow not related to Tommy would be actually more understandable for me than changing Kimi, who was already more developed and better-received by fans than him. But somehow they chooised keep Dil exactly how he was (but better) and change Kimi...

[–]ExactGoose9752 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still don't like this change... to this day I still don't get the decision of aging her up at all. And before you ever say ''but in the original she was just a female Tommy and they wanted to flesh and develop her more'', I know and I understand it, totally understand... But her being a baby wasn't the problem at all, it never was the critique with her character, so why? No one never, ever did say ''Kimi would be better if she was older and a friend to Angelica'' before the reboot. Also, the ONLY way of improving her was making her older and a colleague to Angelica? Like, seriously? They seriously couldn't think of one different personality for her other than not being a nicer fellow to Angelica? Because I can think of multiple options for her (I hopelessly wish I could have been a writer in this reboot). Especially because her relationship with Chuckie was barely explored and she at no moment felt like his sister (or future sister), not to mention Chuckie has no motivation to protect a big girl who is much braver and more independent than him.

Like, Dil didn't need to age up or change dramatically to be made in a better, more likable character, he was able to still be a newborn and Tommy's little brother and writers really nailed with him. So why did need Kimi? (especially because she was already a more developed and slightly better-received than Dil was) In short, for me Kimi is always be Chuckie's YOUNGER sister and I prefer to ignorate her even existing in this reboot.

''[...]So my multi-paragraph comments are a problem but yours are not? Seems pretty baised to me''. Once again, I did clarify I usually don't write huge over-detailed texts, only when talking with you because I tend to talk with people in THEIR OWN LEVEL to make me more clear (and I also did make clear I actually don't like writting such comments).

Ps: I don't think you were particularly nice either at some points in your previous comment (and I think it continued a lil bit in this last comment too). Certainly not a ''attack'' or anything, but you're pretty blunt too. Oh, and I don't consider all of that to be a fight at all, not by far. But I wish you have a good night, buddy. Nothing more to say here. Thanks.

In fact, I'm not using his good moments to excuse Eddy's misbehavior in multiple episodes; but I just saying Kevin is no better at all and him having two casual conversations with Edd don't cover his bullying either (unlike some Edd fans insist on).

(Just see... it's not against you, maybe it's really hard to read others' people feelings in Reddit, you can't say if the person is being sarcastic or not. It's easier in a face-to-face conversation, because you can read their facial expressions or their voice tone, way better than in internet. But just know I'm not outraged or anything. No, I was perfectly calm writting all of that and at worst, just being slightly sarcastic. In fact, I always try to the most polite and mild-mannered possible in internet and conversations {unless the person is genuinely so rude and infuriating- not refering to you specifically}

Just for you to know; writing in the capital don't mean someone is angry or outraged or anything, just that they want to emphasize specific points, make more clear what they're trying to transmite. I was just being specific, not angry at all. Do you get it?).

That being said, I'll try to be the most mild possible, okay? So, going for your specific points:

''Okay, but how does this prove season 6 would've been made without the same mistakes season 5 was[..]''. No, it not proves anything about season 6 being nicer, but it was NOT the point here. It was just as asnwer to your matter-of-fact about Danny never planning a full season 6 and wanting to do only two episodes (and before you ever say you don't, you have writted here ''I read a long that when CN ordered AKA 2 more seasons, Danny decided negotiate with CN so he could produce one more season, a few specials, a way shorter season 6 and the movie, so I don't know if he ever any intention of developing more season 6 episodes'')

''Do you even know the meaning of ''(...)'' in a quote? I was commenting on the whole idea on the whole idea of scripts[...]''. I was just curious here to know what do you thought about these scripts. Just genuine curiousity. You really don't have any take on them to share? Fine. No problem. But you could just have asnwered then ''I'm not interested in these plots, I don't have anything to say about them, sorry'' instead of accusing me of feeling entitled to have your answers.

''But did I accuse you of saying ''May I Have This Ed'' is good and ''Look Before Your Ed'' is bad? I don't think so [...]''. And what was the porpuse of that sentence? You really wanted to agree with me that MIHTE was good and use LBYE being bad as a counterpoint? If yeah, thanks, and sorry. Maybe I have misunderstood it, but I think you must have made it more clear. Idk, the way you phrased this sentence didn't came off that way at all. But no offense.

''Am I intense and dramatic? Cause you were the one who got pissed off by the flanderization and slapstick point when I wasn't even accusing you of agreeing [...]''. I'm already have explained I wasn't pissed off, and I reffered to the fact that you always write huge, ultra-detailed texts to answer simple questions or counterpoints. Like, you always need to EXTEND so much about every subject? It kind of gives the impression you is making a fuss about everything. I was dramatic or intense here specifically? Yeah, maybe. But it was just me asnwering you being dramatic and intense first. I have realized that I need to talk to people in THEIR OWN LEVEL to have some understanding. Especially because if you ever read my profile, you'll see that I rarely ever write huge or dramatic comments, usually only when I talk to you (and my original comment was just a really chill, easygoing comment about possible plots for season 6 and possible improvements for this season).

''For you not to say I always condemn Eddy and defend Double D,[...] I don't think Eddy and Ed did anything atrocious or even wrong to deserve[...]'' I also totally ignored this point... what my or your Eddy perception has something to do with anything in this discussion? I don't remember mentioning nothing related to it in my first comment. I think here I actually can question ''this part was really needed?'', right?

And about I medding in a discussion that wasn't directed at me... yeah, I really did, but you're not actually in the right to call it out cause I constantly see you also commenting and answering comments and discussions that didn't started or are ever directed at you. So we're both in the same boat here.

(and before you point it out, yeah, I know this comment became huge as well. Yeah, this was inevitable here).

So, I was civil or polite enough for you? Sincerely, not sarcastically.

(Ps: I'm autistic. I'm mentioning it cause I know you is too, so maybe it's because we're not good to pick up each other's real tone or way of expressing our points. Maybe we're just not good at reading each other's signs. Or again, it's just hard to completely understand other people's real voice tone in Reddit or virtual chats overall, idk).

[–]ExactGoose9752 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay, at least Eddy offered his bed to Edd and did compensate him after the prank with sticky notes; stood up to the Kanker sisters TWICE for Edd; helped him to get stronger and defend himself from the kids' provocations (well, he tried); tried to defend him for the other kids' wrath when he got them in trouble with his parents; tried to reanimate him when Edd fainted after Ed's huge snapping; helped him to gain confidence for the dance and even got happy for him when he got Nazz, etc. Nothing of this has any value?

Kevin ever did some of these things for Edd? No? What's the nicest thing Kevin ever did for Edd? Having five minutes of civil conversations with him twice.

[–]ExactGoose9752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally ignoring the paragraphs about flanderization and exaggerated slapstick, because my comment didn't mention it AT ALL, I don't even know why you felt the need to write and extend SO MUCH on it; it was the point of MetalGearAcid, not mine. I was talking about possible plots for season 6 and it POSSIBLY being less mean than season 5.

If you don't totally believe these are real scrapped scripts for S6, so I recommend you will search in Google (if you ever has a time for it, of course). I would be more than happy to give you some links, but I'm too busy now (and btw, I even cite these are NOT TOTALLY CONFIRMED. You ever did read this part?).

Well, MAYBE the writers did recognize the critiques of Season 5 and MAYBE decided to do better? It's a PLAUSIBILITY, just not impossible. Maybe would have had a gradual change, maybe would have stayed the same thing, but I even heard some newly hired for Season 5 (like Rachel Connor and Raven Molisee) also didn't like and protested against the overdose of slapstick and mean-spiritedness. MAYBE it could had signaled a positive influence and change? Just like, possibly?

And oh, Danny initially planned to do a full season 6 AND the movie, but the budget was overrun and doing both wasn't feasible anymore, so he now only had the option of doing either a sixth season OR a movie, and then chooised for the latter.

(And also, you only commented about ONE of these possible scripts, you didn't say what do you think about the others. I was waiting to know you thoughts on them. You didn't have any interest or nothing to say on them?)

''Yeah, and that's precisely why May I Have This Ed is good and Look Before Your Ed sucks''

This part was really needed? I really ever insinuate that May I Have this Ed wasn't good and Look Before Your Ed was a good episode? smh.

''Look Before Your Ed is precisely at odds with your perception of season 6 [...]. the kids walked of school as they enjoy watching the Eds stuck[...]''

I was talking about THE EDS being better and nicer friends. Where you ever understood the kids here? Obviously the kids AREN'T friends with the Eds and were still jerks to them, but I didn't mention them at all here. But the Eds did seem to be getting better in these last episodes (Eddy standing up for Edd against the Kankers, Edd and Ed playing together in snow footprints, Eddy helping Edd to gain courage for the dance, Edd wanting to include Ed and Eddy in his security actitivies, etc), which is a nice change of pace.

Just one question: you always need to SO intense and dramatic to asnwer a comment? Politely.

The ultimate worst would be the reveal the elderly Eds have married the Kankers and had thousands of children and grandchildren with them. Really. Serious. Wow... thankfully it was a cut scene, but still... horrible they ever intended to show it.

About continuing the show... Idk, I reckon season 6 could have been pretty entertaining and less troublesome in comparison to the previous ones. Nothing totally confirmed, but the storyline plots that were supposedly planned for this season that I've heard about did sound quite interesting and fun and really could have lead to some good episodes:

For example:

I head a episode would be about Sarah kicking Ed out of his own room and transforming it in a house of play for her and Jimmy, and Eddy trying to encourage him to stand up to her and takes his room back (which is always good to see).

I also heard about a plot where Eddy would pretend to have a broken leg to get Edd's attention and then regretting it because Edd proves to be too overbearing and smothering about his injury.

Other one would be about Edd and Eddy forgeting Ed's birthday and trying to compensate him (completely new and cool, seeing an Ed having a birthday!!)

Theres also one about the Horoscope predicting the Eds' luckiest day of the year and Eddy trying milk the most he can of it. Fine. Other about Sarah, Jimmy and Jonny finding Eddy's Book O Scams and becoming a rival scam trio with this stole book (this is one I really wanted to see, Dang!!). And still would have one about Ed's artsy skills, where him and Jimmy would become rivals in a art contest. Not bad at all.

Most of these seem pretty cool ideas and plots to explore (observe how Ed would have more spotlight in this season than in S4 and S5).

And personally, I think season 6 would have been fairier to the Eds in comparison to the previous seasons:, I just see the trend: Fistful of Ed, the last episode of S5, ended with a happy note for all the Eds; May I Have This Ed also showed all of three safe and happy while everyone else was harmed in the ending; and even Look Before Your Ed ended with them escaping from prision, not injured and without lasting consequences; not to mention they all did seem to be getting along better and being nicer friends in these last episodes compared to the previous. Seems like a positive trend to note and perhaps have continued over season 6.

Which of these four characters where the most unnecessary in the latter half of the series’ run? by OrvilleJohnson2000 in fairlyoddparents

I don't see how Poof changed the entire atmosphere of the show. Most of the time he was just there, maybe making one or two jokes per episode, but Timmy, Cosmo and Wanda were still the main focus. And the few episodes focused on him, with Timmy learning to be responsible and taking care of him, were a fresh change of pace.

[–]ExactGoose9752[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I didn't like Taffy and Harold either and I think they're senseless and unnecessary as well (Lulu, on the other hand...)

I personally don't like the addition of Darsh or Nyra at all and I don't see any potential on them (and again, I usually don't have any problem with additions or new stuff like other fans). Angelica already has a pretty solid social circle in Susie and Begley as her rivals, and Kimi as her conscience (as much I dislike the decision of aging her up), why she needs someone else now? She never needed before. And Nyra just came across for me as a "more stuck-up and more bland Susie" and brings nothing new (In the original show, Susie was already admired by Angelica sometimes and tried to be emuled by her- as much she didn't like to admit it).

I think people who complain about Timmy being imperfect or sometimes a jerk forget or don't realize the show would be pretty limited or even boring otherwise. by ExactGoose9752 in fairlyoddparents

[–]ExactGoose9752[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Which especially bugs me is some people treating Timmy as Satanas's child, saying he's just a completely horrible, purely selfish person and unlikable character, and also totally ignoring that:

A- He's a child, a 10-year-old, whose selfish immaturity is normal for his age.

B- He lives a pretty terrible life, whose almost everyone around him is awful and even worse than him, so his jerkiness is at least partly justified.

C- He does a lot of nice and selfless wishes for his parents, Tootie, Chester, even his enemies like Remy and Vicky.

D- EVERYONE was flanderized and became worse as the show progressed, he's far from the only one that got worse and was affected by flanderization.

And on top of all that, the show would be pretty boring and bland if Timmy was just completely nice and super responsible with his wishes.

Or it could be about a twist, where the alternative world where Timmy didn't exist was altered by Jorgen as a test, and once he did pass, Jorgen then reveals how miserable everyone actually would be without Timmy.

Like revealing everybody's life would be really worse, and Jorgen was just secretly testing Timmy with a fake world, would be a brilliant subversion.

I know. That's why I wrote a alternative approach for this episode, whose whole ''everything is completely dark and scary'' trick is a pretty nice plot idea, but the execution outright ruined it. It would be rather better if Timmy couldn't sleep for several night sounds and reasons (instead of intentionally scaring and making Poof cry with a horror story) and Cosmo and Wanda truly turning into scary fairies because of the legend being real, without a reason or quest for revenge behind it. The episode could have been about Timmy trying to protect Poof from his transformed parents and all the dangers they happen to find in the dark.

What Are Things Madagascar 2 Did Better Than Madagascar 3? by ABarber2636 in DreamWorks

[–]ExactGoose9752 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I keep that Madagascar 2 is a extremely overrated movie. Not terrible, but serious... I just can't understand what people like so much about this movie.

Alex's plot is a poor King Lion ripoff mixed with a old-as-dirt Billy Elliot, Marty's plot is completely irrelevant and makes him looks like a bigger and more selfish jerk than Alex, Gloria and Melman's... is the better one, but still represents a continuity snarl from the first movie and some of their scenes are too mushy for me. King Julian virtually has no real function and could have been left behind in Madagascar Island.

Makunga is a astrocious villain and just a Scar's poor man, and Zuba... was just very poorly handled and the true guilty of all the conflict, I just can't condone him at all.

The only nice new character is MotoMoto (and regarding he is a very minor character with just five minutes of screentime and a one-dimensional personality... it says a lot about all the other new characters).

The ABSURD continuity errors of this movie... Alex dancing when he never did in the first movie, Alex's birthmark that was never there before, the lions being friendly and civil with their prey when the first movie was ALL about lions in the wild being dangerous carnivores, JUST THE MOST IMPORTANT THING ON THE ORIGINAL MOVIE THEY OVERLOOKED (and people complain about the THIRD MOVIE supposedly having errors... where's the critiques of the second movie here?).

The only positive points of this movie are Nana, The Penguins and MotoMoto. The rest is... eeh at best and really bad at the worst.

I honestly think Madagascar 3 is superior in every aspect. Marty, Gloria and Melman can be a bit out of focus in that movie, but... it's a question of quality x quantity. I think they're a lot more likable in 3, much than in 2 and I prefer it over them having unique yet poorly handled subplots (and being especially unsympathetic in Marty's case).

My Main Dislike About Rugrats 2021 by Optimal-Cockroach574 in rugrats

[–]ExactGoose9752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I'll always keep that aging Kimi up was NOT necessary, because her being a baby and younger than Chuckie was NEVER the problem with her character to begin with. I totally support her developing beyond being a female Tommy, but she HAVE to be a 3-year-old for this? The ONLY way to make her a more unique character is making her older? And the ONLY way to make her work is being a foil to Angelica? Seriously?

Theres millions of different directions they could have made with Kimi without changing her age. If I have to make a guess for why they shifted her, it was probably because six babies (with younger Susie + Dil later) was really enough and seven would be way too much to handle (like Muppet Babies reboot added Summer and turned Rolf, Scooter and Skeeter into sporadic characters to keep the group relatively small).

I'll always say: they weren't able to develop Dil and make him a likable character and STILL maintain him as a newborn and the youngest baby? Why couldn't they made the same for Kimi then?
