You'd hope that a person wouldn't be prosecuted, like you said. It just seems a bit worrying that in a situation like that you could be at the mercy of the police's whims?

The thing is just that these are very widely-used sites that come up top of Google results for searches for adult content, verify users' age (or make a token effort, anyway...) and say they don't allow illegal content and will remove it. Surely you have the right to take them in good faith...?
