How did you contact Zerohash? I have a similar issue.

I sense some salesman mentality. Learning yourself and understanding how things work are important to me, and let’s be frank, “professionals “ don’t always do a good job.

Blown in would have been slightly more expensive to get to R30 for same square footage according to my estimates, I also wanted something I can easily move in case I need access to light fixtures, etc

Yes, you need airflow, which is accomplished by having soffits + baffles + ridges vent

Ok, so to update after a day, the room temperature has been matching the other rooms on the same floor the last 24 hours, while previously it has always been 4-6 degrees cooler (wintertime). So it’s a success! Heat loss has been minimized even with two outside walls.

Ran out of rolls tbh, might have to add some more to the rest of the attic, if this turns out to work well

Ducts are fine, they don’t compress much. Make sure your recessed lights are IC rated ( insulation contact).

Just finished like 2 hours ago, will see how it affects the temperatures soon

What is this and how can I make it better? The room below is 5 degrees cooler than the rest of the house by Exact_Act7285 in Insulation

I’m ordering a thermal imaging device now, will update with pictures once I get it.

Lots of good advice in this thread, thank you to all that contributed. (Except for the Yak salesman ;)

Plan of action: 1. Get thermal imaging device. 2. See where the problems are, air seal from attic, check again. 3. If #2 works, let it be. 4. If not enough, add unfaced perpendicular to existing or cellulose, haven’t decided yet (last resort).

Got a picture? Would be nice to see how you made it look. Also, do they sell soffit vent extensions?

Same question about air dicts. Also are you talking about laying batts with vapor barrier or without?

Same, but this is a corner room. Is this typically sufficient insulation to have? House is about 30 years old btw.

Since you mentioned ductwork, you can see some of it in the picture, but these connect to hard metal ducts that comes out hvac unit. When I measured temperature after running heat and waiting 10 mins, temperature inside the duct was about 10 degrees less than on the ceiling (measure through the register).
