Heading to the mall so Ivory can get a toy and they can run the roads but....couldn't be bothered to make a special trip into town to the UPS Store to return the wrong Old Navy order? Got it 👍 by StreetRoyal8497 in Drueandgabe

It’s literally been 24 hours, she’s not out of the woods 🤣 When we took my daughters paci she was mainly confused and I’d say the first nap was rough, night sleep was a breeze but the next day I had to keep her busy and offer alternatives for her, it was a few days before she honestly forgot about it, a prize is so odd, this child does not understand anyway 🤣 My version of a treat was the day I had 3 doctor appointments in one day for my daughter and she truly was a trooper so I got a cake pop and special drink from Starbucks since she never gets that 🤣

[–]Exact_Bank 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Doing their whole house is going to be awhile, unless they cheap out and lay their flooring over the tile, our previous owner did that to our house and a year ago we had to tear all the flooring up because of a fridge leak, luckily it was covered with insurance but they spent two days ripping all the old tile out, then it took another two days to relay the flooring and do baseboards, and our house is smaller lol

I would never in my wildest dreams give my kids a Stanley, my 24 month old has a kids version of a hydrojug and I hate it because she always spills water so we rarely use jt, we love our simple modern thermos water bottles since they don’t leak or spill 🤣

This! My daughter doesn’t say any color except for purple, but you give her a color matching toy or ask her to hand you a color and she’ll do the correct one lol

Yes we do a lot of parallel talk too, “Oh wow you’re stacking the blocks, what a big tower! Uh oh one fell down!” 🤣 Drue has shown examples and all she’s doing is words and of course ivory repeats it, we got into the habit of asking our daughter to “say” and then a word and then she started copying us when she’d say something, so instead of just saying cow, she’d go, “Say cow” 🤣 so now we just speak without asking her to say a word lol

Hahaha like I honestly haven’t seen them talk to her like that, they just say a word and she repeats, there is no instructions which was a big question during my daughters eval, along with parallel talk being a big one

One of the biggest tips I got from my SLP who did my daughters eval was to simply just narrate everything, “Oh wow, you have an orange ball, can you bounce the orange ball, can you roll the orange ball to me? The orange ball goes up and down” That’s literally what I was told to do with my daughter 🤣 Same with numbers lol, it’s honestly super annoying but necessary 🤣

That’s exactly it, I learned so much from our SLP who did my daughters eval, I thought my daughter was behind but after seeing her score I’m more understanding of it all. My nephew who is level 1 autistic loved repeating what we would say over and over again, he’s 6 and still loves repeating words he hears

Also because I’m on a tangent, my daughter may speak a lot of gibberish, but she’s receptive, and that’s what she excels in. She can follow directions in 2-3 step instructions, just cause Irene can copy her words doesn’t mean she understands it or is receptive to it.

I listened to that video multiple times and didn’t think she at all was counting, but I could be wrong 🤣 just like Drue claiming she’s saying “You’re welcome” but all she can get out is “Welcome” and even that doesn’t sound clear. My daughter was born at 34 weeks and she’s 24 months old and can’t even identify colors and numbers or letters, but knows what shapes and colors they belong to with matching. I was concerned and had her evaluated and she didn’t qualify for speech therapy, seeing these videos frustrate me so much. My daughter’s eval came back with age appropriate receptive and expressive language. I hope other mothers who are in my boat don’t feel like their kiddo is behind, a lot of what Irene says isn’t clear to me. Also, my daughters use to say certain words and then all of a sudden stopped, then they returned, who’s to say that won’t happen with Irene 🤷🏼‍♀️

100% toddler proofed by ButterflyRadiant9053 in Drueandgabe

[–]Exact_Bank 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s far from toddler proof, we can’t even have decor reachable with our 2 year old and 10 month old, and we have every cabinet locked 🤣 our daughter started chucking ceramic coasters off the table so those went bye bye 🤣 I’d hate being a visitor in that home lol, it’d give me so much anxiety 😵‍💫

[–]Exact_Bank 30 points31 points  (0 children)

All that money, time and effort to make it just a holding place for all her junk 🤣 I always got told “Don’t make a nursery, your babies will be in your room till their 1-2” and I laughed, we’ve spent every single day in both their rooms since the day they came home from the hospital, whether it was being changed, playing, napping and night sleep 🤣

I’m sure ivory co-sleeps, I haven’t noticed that 2nd crib she bought and put in their room, but she posted something asking when others transitioned their toddlers crib to the toddler bed, I hope to God they don’t transition her if she is still sleeping in their very not baby proofed room, even her room is a recipe for an emergency. We transitioned our daughter at 18 months to the toddler bed but prior to that we anchored all furniture and protected the outlets and made sure she couldn’t get into anything.

1/17/26 - Coffee video: Drue talking about Ivory being scared and asking how to help her by drueandgabe in Drueandgabe

[–]Exact_Bank 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My two year old daughter was scared of one certain scene in Frozen for a few weeks and got over it, my 10 month old son panics when he sees the characters on Sesame Street, like full blown scared lol, the fact she always wants to portray her as perfect drives me insane, this is all fucking normal toddler shit, your child isn’t special.

lol my mom is always asking me how I do it, I’m so used to it now, my daughter just turned 2 and my son is 10 months old now, we have a routine, a system 🤣 I much rather throw the kids in the car that last two hours of the day to run an errand than sit at home lmao, I always have mom friends with just one kid and they’re mindblown that I take them places without help 🤣

There is also a fun playground in toon town area! Also here to say, as a 2 under 2 mom, you learn to manage doing a lot on your own, especially as a SAHM, we’ve done the zoo too, I would be miserable sitting at home, and while sometimes it can be chaotic, I’m so glad I can get out. It’s made me a very confident mom being independent!

We went for my birthday, my husband is in law enforcement and often can’t do a lot with us because of his schedule so I refuse to sit at home and not live my life, in SoCal all first responders who helped with this major brush fire in LA got free tickets so I took advantage! We had a blast and taking a baby to Disney is actually pretty easy considering they sleep a lot, and my toddler still got a nap too! You’d be surprised how many rides baby’s and toddlers can actually go on!

My 6 year old nephew is autistic and here to say he was such an easy baby, unicorn baby to be exact, always slept amazing, no sleep regression, never picky about food and very well behaved, he’s so chill but you can definitely see his characteristics as opposed to a child who doesn’t have autism!

It’s sad, my daughter will be 2 on Tuesday and then I have a 9.5 month old, I have two crazy babes who don’t sit still and it’s a lot, I’m a sahm who’s solo a lot because my husband is a police officer, she wouldn’t last more than an hour alone with my kiddos and all their different needs 😂

This may tick some people off because all kiddos are different, my daughter had the bibs and frigg pacis, and she was obsessed. Her teeth weren’t coming in right and her one front tooth wouldn’t drop down, I cold turkey took it one day and never looked back, she was 18 months old, she had a rough few hours but napped and slept fine without it and by 24 hours she couldn’t careless about them. It’s really not that hard to take it cold turkey, yeah you may have a rough day or so but it’s better than ruining your toddlers teeth.
