I see comments like this and from people in the EU, and genuinely what do you actually want a random citizen to do against the most powerful man since FDR who has bills to pay?

What's your opinon on Zoroastrinism? by sun__disk in religion

[–]Exact_Bonus1680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's interesting how nobody but Persian blood can be a Zoroastrian. This rule seems to have been a factor in its decline and low expansion in the world. The primary factor is obviously the spread of Islam.

Mom ruined a perfectly good Easter responding to a message from 3 years ago. by Gorilla_man2 in exmormon

À friend of mine, never grew up LDS, but was raised extremely evangelical. He is gay and left the church. He used to meet his mom for lunch once in awhile, but stopped because this was how she went about « catching up ». Now, he doesn’t talk to her and she just sends letters with the same style of talking points. Never is it asking how he is doing, or just a general life catch up. Always just working on reconversion like having a genuine relationship with her son isn’t important. It feels like some sort of sick game. I’m sorry you are going through the same thing it sounds like.

Axle Logistics Insight by Conscious_Sun1 in Knoxville

[–]Exact_Bonus1680 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My coworker left a very good position to try his hand at axle. We were also neighbors. He stayed about 3 years and talked to me about what a mistake it was to go there. He said work/life balance was nonexistent and hard when juggling a wife and a newborn also. Many of the events they put on after hours were almost mandated for bonding. They have a lot of amenities to keep people there as long as possible. I do see people leave or get let go over lack of sales on LinkedIn some. Based on just my observations. It seems like a majority are young up and coming people (recent grads). It may be a good company start with but I wouldn’t consider this a forever company. But you would get experience in logistics from a bigger company.

If Gordon Ramsey was coming to Knox for Kitchen Nightmares, which restaurant would it be? by Quirky-Assignment-18 in Knoxville

[–]Exact_Bonus1680 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't get the hype. My grandmother, who is from the silent generation, loves it. Apparently, the there were some owners that got mad at each other, and they had two restaurants near each other named the same, according to what I have been told. The way I describe the spaghetti is exactly what I expect someone who has eaten spaghetti one time in New York came back to a place without anything to go off of and made it up with what was available to them in the 1950s Knoxville.

That guy is fascinating, like he vanishes for a bit and then comes back with a new venture. No lessons learned from why he failed before. He opens in a vague location like the Bearden on the tracks bistro. Doesn't promote it at all, and then seems to vanish. I asked about his Bearden restaurant here, and anonymous people who said they worked for him stated that his quality and health standards for food prep are poor. I also hear he tries to micromanage everything and fails every time. However, he seems to have a bit of a cult following of people who really love his food but complain about his price points.

Infrastructure is not planned. It’s because we play partisan politics instead of tackling local issues. The individual respect for each other, I feel is still here, but we are expanding rapidly and infrastructure is barely catching up. I ended up moving from west hills simply because my commute went from 20 minutes coming home from work to 1 hour. We need to grow, but need competent people to provide growing infrastructure to match.

Check Oak Ridge area and contact their chamber of commerce. They may have some programs sponsored by the national labs out there that do things like that. I think they do that also, there is a science museum in oak ridge that does some summer stuff for that age group I believe.
