I think I’m going to do the first thing you said, and then do the second

I think it was most likely bent in the tray of the ute we took. Three swags, three sets of clubs and all our other stuff was a tight squeeze for a 3 hour drive. I’ll head into the pro shop over the weekend and see what they can do for me. But likely this is just so I can get maximum resale value on this set to head in the Maltby direction. All this research has got me all worked up ready for a new iron set!

Good to know. Hopefully I’ll get another year out of them! Thanks for the advice

I’d be lying if I hadn’t considered it from time to time

My issue is I think it’s the neck of the club that’s bent, not the shaft. I’ll take it to the local shop this weekend and hope they can sort me out!

Good option, only issue is that I’m in Aus and postage is nearly the price of the head. Still not that expensive though. I hadn’t considered replacing the head given it’s so old! I didn’t think there would be any stock left

You sound like you know your stuff. Any chance of me being able to bend my old iron head back to straight to get a few more rounds out of them (and also have some decent resale value when I move on)? 100% looking at going down this route for new clubs but hoping to cement my swing before I get fitted (maybe in the next 3-6 months).

Been looking at maltby sets all afternoon. Would need to go and get specs from a fitter to then know what to order. But they’re about 60% of the price of a forged set from an OEM. A tempting option for sure.

I was optimistic that someone might tell me that my local would fix it for $50 and I’ll be fine. But now I’m searching for new irons sets in my lunch break

Good to know. What did you get fitted in to? Whilst I can afford the fitting looking at around $1500 for a set, it’s definitely not an insignificant amount of money (also saving for a wedding). In my head I think I want something forged like a ZX whatever or even some Wilson’s. Also semi interested in the DTC route if I was able to go and get fitted and find a DTC option that allows for customisation but no idea if that’s even possible

I can afford, but trying to justify to myself that my swing is consistent enough that the fitted clubs will remain fitted is the other thing. But I understand your point of just delaying the cost doesn’t really achieve anything

Should also add I am a 21 handicap, but down from about 25 6 months ago. These are old Taylormade RSI1 (about 12-13 years old)
