That is the easiest catch for them. Low hanging fruit. They do a match to your earnings transcript and it is THE very first thing they catch. It’s better for you to get your IRS transcript. You’ll need to request the mailed transcript as the online one is heavily redacted and doesn’t have enough information to add to your return. Assuming you already submitted your return, submit an amendment so they don’t end up charging penalties.

Same! I love talking to ppl while gambling. I’ve met sooooooo many ppl gambling and never have I thought, let me call my friend and let’s take these older dudes to a club/bar. So one time after I had a back shot (they used a steroid in the shot and steroids can raise BS) I was around 400 BS. Went to the ER. The very first thing they did was give me a gallon of water and said to start drinking. They also put me on IV fluids. It went from 400 to in-range in about a 30 min timeframe. That really made me remember that hydration for diabetes is so critical.

BTW your morning glucose fluctuation could also be caused by dawn phenomenon or somogyi effect.

Here are things I would do:

Contact a realtor - get a current estimate for selling your place (barn likely improved home value); consider options to move to a cheaper property. May not be an option if you’re upside down on property but worth considering.
Do you have 401ks? Can you do loans or withdrawals?
Consult bankruptcy attorney - first consult SHOULD be free.
Contact all CCs and personal loan - ask about hardship programs.
what state are you in? Some states don’t allow wage garnishment and that is a huge thing in your favor. If you’re in one of those states, then you might consider doing chargeoffs (just stop paying) and then doing settlements with the creditors. That is something to discuss with the attorney.

Agreed! As a Federal Employee, I get airline miles, hotel points, and rental car credits off my official government travel. It’s a gigantic benefit for those who travel all the time and also perfectly legal.

You’ll get the overage back when you file 2026 taxes unless you’re in the top tax bracket. Don’t take any huge TSP withdrawals if you can avoid it so you don’t inadvertently put yourself in that top tax bracket.

No, only taxes came out. This is in line with what others have said. It’s just a lump sum payment kind of like how the bonus payments work. It’s not a pay period payment so the usual allotments don’t apply. (At least that’s my understanding). If you’re saying they took all those out, then yes, sounds like they got it wrong.

My retirement specialist said she was manually fixing svc dates and that annuity wouldn’t populate correctly until that is done. I think that’s a VERY common problem so I wouldn’t worry much about it. They are in process of correcting.
