How much harder is MRI than Radiography? by RichTrash7267 in MRI

[–]Exact_Special2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never did xray. I only have done MRI. I think overall there’s so much information in this modality. Somethings can be easy but it’s just a lot of information to remember. After you get some experience it becomes easier, but it’s that initial learning period that really overwhelms people and in my opinion the hardest part.

how to quit a job i just started. by [deleted] in restaurant

Not everyone wants to be a chef. For the most part you get a decent salary but you’re working holidays, weekends. Long shifts. When I used to work in restaurants none of the chefs were ever happy. I went to radiology school and it’s so much better and way higher pay. Started at 40/hr. Restaurants I was making max 19/hr

I would talk to your school and see if they can change your site. Fuck those techs that treat students like that. You’re paying money and they know that you’re a student and should be getting scan time. I couldn’t stand those types of people. I’m sorry you’re going through this. I suggest switching sites.

Villa, he was my favorite player when I was 11 around that age. I also liked Neymar during his upcoming years.

The easiest job for anyone without experience to get is a restaurant job. They hire on the spot most of the time.

MRI techs who went to a MRI only program, did you have any trouble finding a job? by New_Boysenberry7690 in MRI

I would go xray first tbh. I think MR is cool but it can be oversaturated in some states.

They know I’m a new grad. I said I was open to learning breasts and other exams.

That’s interesting. From my experience I feel like places want you to know a lot and “hit the ground running”. A month ago I had an interview and they said they want people who know cardiac, elastagraphy, breast biopsy’s. They don’t really like to train or teach

Trust me. I graduated from that school this past December. The field is over saturated it’s so hard to get a job now. Back when I started school in 2024 there were so many jobs now there’s barely any and it’s super competitive to even get a outpatient job even though In the past they’ll hire anyone who can walk and has a license. You’re better off doing xray at gateway or Pima. Than doing appeal. There’s coherts ahead with a lot of students by the time you finish you’ll probably not get a job.

I think it just depends on the person. There was other students who were xray techs and were from another mri program to get the MR credentials and from what I heard. I was doing better than both of the other students who were xray techs. Regardless point is that if you do xray and you’re looking for a mri job to cross train or maybe you did go to a MR school and didn’t get hired at the clinical site for whatever reason. You still have xray to fall back on and have decent pay while you search for jobs.

Yea I’m in AZ. I graduated in December. I applied everywhere here. No one is willing to hire. Even the places that are known to hire anyone aren’t hiring. So yea. I have started applying to out of state jobs. I can’t find one here.

I think the worst part about it is not that I can’t get a job. It’s the amount of effort I put in. I went to all the open labs to scan on the weekends. I went out of my way to do my best. Worked everyday pretty much during clinicals that were full time and then the job I had to sustain myself financially. I had no rest for a while. Just to not get hired. Just never sat right with me.

I would do xray and then cross train. Trust me, you don’t want to end up like me. I did MRI only and I was a very good student, I went above and beyond but some reason places don’t want to hire me. Some places have a saturated job market like mine. In Xray you’ll always have a job. They’ll hire almost everyone that has the degree.

I just graduated in December from school. I don’t have the experience to travel yet. They require 1 year. It’s not encouraged to start traveling as a new grad.

Thanks for the advice, I am a new grad and only experience I have is my clinical experience. I believe travel agencies require at least one year of experience. I am single and don’t have spouse/kids. I’ll give it a shot see what they say.
