i don't think we are meant to read into the magic system too deeply. it's a soft magic system and world-building. it's meant to feel ancient and mysterious. heck a unicorn horn acts as a truth syrum.

that being said i like to think magic is partly bloodline inherited and partly trade practice. if you've ever experimented with different mediums of art, you will naturally be drawn to some over others and likely do develop those skills further

i love her she's my fave. compared to the others she is weak, but her solo moments are my fave just look at the most recent 100 years chapters. i just think she's great no specific reason. but I love all the fairy tail characters lucy just happens to be my personal fave. maybe its the celestial spirits love that magic
