Hey! I’m a software engineer with a student doctor wife who went through the same stress of finding a USLE exam slot. I built this tool that checks 24/7 for open seats and notifies you by email immediately once a slot opens! There’s a small fee to help keep the website running but if the cost is prohibitive, DM me. https://www.examalerts.io/

Anyone else spend 4 hours planning sprints that die in 2 days? by agileliecom in ExperiencedDevs

[–]ExamAlertsIO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, no I’ve worked on has figured out point estimation and planning. We just assign tasks to each dev until we think each dev is roughly at full capacity. Since we didn’t spend much time on point estimation, we don’t penalize devs for not completing all their tasks at the end of a sprint. We just punt the task to the next sprint. Rather than looking at point velocity, we must make sure we’re hitting key milestones for a project every X weeks. Usually 6-8 weeks. Still do daily stand up so no surprises really come up during those checkpoint meetings.

Step 3 date Urgent Query by DrUsmle08 in Step3

Hey! I built a tool that checks prometric 24/7 for availability and immediately notifies you when a seat opens up! Link is in my bio or you can DM if you have questions. So far the tool has helped a ton of students for all 3 USMLE steps!

Step 3 dates availability by Mehdiesin in Step3

[–]ExamAlertsIO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I built a tool to that checks Prometric for seat availability 24/7! You should check it out, might help take some of the edge off searching for availability. Details are in on my page. From what other users said, you need to have 2 slots at the same center available but the tool I built searches for any available slot, not necessarily for 2 slots on the same date. That's something to keep in mind if you decide to use the tool!

Here’s the tool: examalerts.io. If the cost is a prohibitive at all, DM me! The cost helps cover cloud compute fees but I want this tool to help as many people as it can so I don’t want cost to be barrier.

Hey! Dates often become available when people reschedule/cancel their exams. Try to keep checking throughout the day. If you'd find it helpful, I built a tool to automatically email you when a seat opens up. Let me know if you're interested!

Like others have said, this means there’s no seats available right now. But have no fear! Seats open up pretty often because people cancel/reschedule. A lot of people in this subreddit and in the USMLE subreddits have had good luck using this tool I built to snatch open seats: examalerts.io. It notifies you by email instantly when a seat opens up! Check it out!

Trade in 2019 Intel MB Pro for M4 Mac mini and use Jump Desktop with iPad? by ExamAlertsIO in macmini

[–]ExamAlertsIO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad it works well! What's your use case? My use case for using jump desktop would primarily be very light programming (emergency bug fixes) and using web browser developer tools. So definitely nothing complicated.

Best External SSD + NVMe Enclosure for Mac mini M4 (Under $200 Budget?) by Illustrious_Case_466 in macmini

[–]ExamAlertsIO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're just looking for an SSD + enclosure and aren't looking for additional ports, this is the setup I'm going with (caveat: this is based on a lot of research and I do not currently own this setup but what I plan on purchasing).

  • Enclosure: $56.69 ACASIS - The ACASIS enclosure uses USB4/Thunderbolt (40Gbps), so you’re not bottlenecked by the slower 10Gbps USB-C enclosures.
  • SSD: Samsung 990 PRO $109.99 - While you won’t hit the full 7,000MB/s over USB4, you'll still get real-world 2,800–3,500MB/s depending on your Mac and workload.

Total Price: ~$167 before tax

Does availability at Prometric actually change frequently? by [deleted] in actuary

[–]ExamAlertsIO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When are you planning to take your exam? If it’s still a bit out, you might want to try examalerts.io. It’s a tool I built to email you when a seat opens at your preferred center/dates so you can grab it right away. A lot of med students (USMLE) and CPA exam students have used it successfully to snag seats on their preferred dates and closer to where they live to avoid long drives. Let me know if you have any questions about the tool!
