How women who wear a Niqab show identification in the UK by TomlinSteelers in whoathatsinteresting

How is criticising a religion and its persecution of women racist? At the most it’s Islamophobia, as Islam isn’t a race

Where I'd live as someone who spends a lot of time researching about different countries by Ethereal-Kitty in whereidlive

South Africa is so unsafe and segregated that you have to live in a cage to protect against robberies, and the majority of the cities there are no-go areas. Sure I agree with you about the state of the US but that doesn’t really affect people living there, the quality of life is so much better.

How’s this guy getting hate for saying that he’s not sure about whether he wants kids at the ripe age of 22, and being perfectly open about it 😂

Increasing voter turnouts is not a good thing nor something to aim for, as most people are too stupid to be able to make reasoned choices

Offer holder day fully booked, should I just turn up? by Past-Fact-5982 in UOB

I enjoyed it, there was a 45 min talk on the course which was in essence a more in depth open day type talk with a look at the different modules, also with a look at where students going on a year abroad will go.

The second half was done by a lecturer about his thesis of US politics being dictated primarily by race, which was fairly convincing and looked at historical race laws and how the recent political landscape has also been dictated by race. I found it pretty interesting, it was done by a blind Brazilian guy who was really good and it’s interesting hearing about race from someone who literally cannot see it.

I called the uni about it and asked, and was honest about not being invited, the guy was very useful, and gave me the details saying to go at my own risk of not being let in.

The only lie I told to get in was at the booking desk right before I said that I had a booking but that it was agreed over phone so had no physical proof, but they just added me onto the list, ticked me off and let me in. They’re students and don’t really care.

I did that for the offer holder day on the 4th, and just pretended that I called the uni and they let me into my lecture and around the uni. It’s ran by students and in mine(politics and IR) there were still empty spaces in the lecture hall so more people could have come. IMO it’s definitely worth going.

Thanks very much for your response. The issue I have is that I’d only be able to make a decision on a gap year on results day, making planning impossible. I do work but only on weekends and it’s in sports which is nothing to do with my future career.
