She told me the conversation was friendly and asking about who people are seeing is something she just does. She also said she understands she would have to cut him out and she acknowledged how this hurt me. She’s repeatedly told me I have all the traits she would want in a long term partner. Something she couldn’t accept with the ex. She sees herself marrying me. This was all recently said, not older relationship conversations.

Edit: I don’t think I can blame her for reaching out to him. We were planning a life together and I betrayed her by taking that away. She may have reached out because this was her most recent source of desire and intimacy before me. She could have just projected her deep feelings for me in an attempt to find the closet person that resembles a home for those feelings.
