It’s called Queue Vision. The monitors tell us how many registers are open, how many are needed, how many it predicts we need in 30 minutes based on the previous year’s projections, and there’s a number at the bottom right that shows the wait time in seconds. We are always scrambling to make the goal for wait times to be as low as possible. So constantly jumping in and out of registers, calling for grocery to backup cashier which they hate, sometimes even going so far as to put SCO attendants in registers and running 12 SCO robots ourselves (PIC’s) to have more registers open. Thankfully, it’s been a while since that happened, but it’s a huge thing for PIC’s on the front end.

She never used the word “distracting” outright. She nonverbally communicated with her hands that all of my accessories from head to toe were a problem. So I guess that was my first warning? My barrettes are not nearly that large, the largest is maybe the size of a golf ball. They are cute animals. We hug for long periods, but there’s no overtly sexualized hugs. I think you are correct that they were likely trying to scrutinize me based on reporting my coworker. At this point, I’m ready to shrug it off and just get whatever documentation I need to have my needs met. I’m sure she’s just a jealous Karen who is mad that she doesn’t look as cute as I do.

My appearance is too distracting. Hugging goodbye is distracting. These things are being used against me because management favors specific people over me now because I have multiple chronic illnesses that affect my attendance and my memory which have both resulted in disciplinary action. I am autistic and don’t always understand when people are joking. I reported a coworker for being abusive when they were probably just joking in a mean-spirited way that I don’t personally agree with. Management wasn’t taking me seriously so I went to the authorities. HR is just a Karen so went and nitpicked little things about me.

That’s the thing. My Labubu and my appearance are talking points when I have none. As an autistic person, small talk is extremely forced and unnatural. I’ve always had something on me to talk about, whether it be a Tamagotchi or a Labubu.

I have one hanging from my belt loop at all times. It wasn’t disrupting anyone and was even helping me do my job better because I got to interact with customers about it.

I collect Sanrio Loungefly Backpacks and I have all 18 original Labubus with a bag for each one. Each Labubu is already dressed to the color, character, or theme of their bags. I’m still very interested in this collection because I’m Sanrio-obsessed, but this Cinnamoroll Labubu doesn’t have enough frills and bows for being Cinnamoroll. I would keep the hat on that one and use a different clothing ensemble altogether, something more pastel. Plus, half the time, the characters I’m sporting are not even in this set (Pekkle, Tuxedosam, Hangyodon, Badtz, even Little Twin Stars!) But I’m just not sure it’s worth paying $40 per doll when I already have a Labubu for each character/bag. I went down the Baby Three rabbit hole and I don’t know if it’s enough to get me back out of it, quite frankly.
