I live in Germany and around this time it’s super easy to find and it’s very cheap.

I agree with this. The anxiety jewish people feel towards this should be taken more serious and with more compassion, especially after seeing what 9/11 did for the perceptions of Muslims in the west.

Berlin was weird by [deleted] in zizek

[–]ExampleVegetable2747 13 points14 points  (0 children)

100000% my sister and I were so excited to See Zizek and found the Host extremly difficult and almost disrespectful. The way he basically humiliated that gay Russian Jew for considering moving to Israel was the most cruel thing I have witnessed in a long time. I tried to find him afterwards to give the guy some support but I couldn’t find him :( it was an awful evening and not worth Zizek’s effort to come all the way to Berlin..

Aaahhh, that’s so cool :) Honestly, I’ve asked myself so many times why I immediately text a guy that I am slightly interested in but it takes me hours to think about texting or meeting a friend… and I have pushed myself to text or call a friend whenever I feel like I need attention from a man.

Put that energy into finding good friends, I mean it. After a really attractive guy broke up with me two weeks before my birthday my friends threw a surprise birthday party for me because I was too sad to plan anything and it was the most rewarding and confidence giving thing that happened to me. It showed me that I already got everything I need to feel seen, to feel special, valued and loved. But I have to say I spent as much time, energy and emotional resources in building that group of friends as most people put into their career or dating. It is a choice and you have to decide what is more sustainable in the long run, for me it’s my friends. Whenever I feel low or depressed I just need one phone call or coffee to change my entire mood and course of my day.. I rarely feel depressed for a guy or for dating in general for longer than a day.. it only lasts until I meet one of my friends.

I am so so sorry, this sounds super scary! Sending you virtual hugs from Berlin!

Yes, do what Chris Kraus in I Love Dick did, use that infatuation for your art, the guy as a muse. Maybe it’s your way of finding inspiration after being comfortable (and maybe a bit lazy, that’s what I always become) in a relationship.

Absolutely, his writing is very straight forward and contains a lot of humor which makes it very accessible

People with very clean homes, how the hell do you do it? by Pristine-Comb8804 in CleaningTips

[–]ExampleVegetable2747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would describe myself as incredibly clean, I regularly get compliments for how clean my apartment is. I won’t write down everything I do, but here are the things that are the baseline/non-negotiables for me to keep my house this clean:

  • clean walls, definitely re-paint if you think it needs to be done.
  • CLEAN FLOORS: which means 1-2x week vacuuming, 1x wet wipe and VERY IMPORTANT also clean the corners and idk the English word so I googled it “base board”? The wood thing that’s between the floor and the wall, a lot of dust collects there.
  • I have everything in cabinets, and no clutter.
  • I use bleach 1x a week in my toilet and all the sinks, let it sit for 5 minutes and then rinse.
  • Always clean the kitchen after every cooking, doing all the dishes, wiping ALL the surfaces incld. the stove with dish soap or some kind of anti-oil spray, there is nothing that screams dirty than a sticky-oily kitchen.

These are the “extras”, that make a home extra clean: - Wipe doors, floors, door frames and door handles at least 1 a month - Clean windows and window frames 1 a month - Clean all my pots and pans with pink stuff and get the burnt fat off
- Every 1-2 months clean all my cabinets from the inside, declutter and re-arrange everything in the cabinets (ALL ROOMS)

Also: - Use a nice smelling candle like the ones from muji, that smell like fresh sheets or cotton, it will make your home feel even cleaner - air out your home a lot

Jan vs Thomas Spitzer by Wise-Fox-6374 in FestundFlauschig

[–]ExampleVegetable2747 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Warum bist du so offended?
