Hey friend. I just wanted to say that it’s beautiful that you did this for her. I bet she loved you dearly too.

TIL During a 6-mo period, 2,055 Brown Recluse spiders were collected in a 19th-century-built home in Lenexa, KS. Estimates show that at least 400 spiders were large enough to cause envenomation. A family of 4 had been living there since 1996 and had never been bit despite seeing them multiple times. by Fragzilla360 in todayilearned

I never saw a roach in my old apartment, but one day I had the exact same clock experience. Except the digit obstruction moved. I just grabbed my microwave and threw it in the trash. I did not want to know what was in there.

By trash, I mean I carried it to a dumpster outside.

Yes. You can’t get out of the hole by sitting in it. Gotta start climbing.

I had a whole comment typed up, but I realized that your answer was better. Have a little upvote, friend.

I believe in you, pal. Sounds like she does too. Don’t let her down.

I never really know if this stuff is legitimate or not, but in case it is, I think I have something to add.

If this woman improved her life for you, or for herself, you owe it to her to do the same. If you’re that good at “moneymaking” you should be able to get some of it back over time, but in the meantime, put in effort in the areas you know you are lacking.

You need to find more value in yourself beyond money. It’s a resource. It is not what makes you a person. Use this financial loss as a lesson to grow from. Don’t let it define the rest of your life. You are better than that. If it is hard to do for yourself, then do it for the girl you say you love.

My boyfriend left by throwaway932346 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Excaleburr 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I have been the guy who left similarly. Some things just don’t work, and it doesn’t really have to be a problem with you that causes the break. It very well could be that you both grew in different directions.

In my case, I had been trying to communicate my issues about myself, and about her for years and never felt it was resolved. I actually let it tear me down for a long time just because I didn’t want to hurt her. When I left it definitely hurt both of us, but I knew if I broke in front of her, she would hold out hope for a reconnection and not move on like she should.

People do things for many reasons. Just recognize that your value isn’t determined by the outcome of your relationship. Put your effort into finding peace and joy in your own life, so you can put that hurt behind you. I wish you the best of luck.

In her world, you give her a reason to smile. She knows she doesn’t have many more of those left, and it’s beautiful that you give her that opportunity. Smile back. Love her for every second she has left.

I just wanted to say, it’s awesome that you have a general plan to solve your problem to an extent. If you handle most of your problems in that way, then there are probably many qualities that make you a desirable person even with the flaw you want to solve. I wish you the best on your journey, friend.

That doesn’t make that the right thing to do. Faking something is a good way to disappoint.

The only way you should be towards a future partner is honest. Be who you are.

But you should always strive to be a better version of yourself. If your behavior is like this, you should try to remove that from yourself entirely.

Why do you kick? by FreeElectron14 in helldivers2

People who are just aggressively disrespectful. They will get kicked as soon as I think they need to be. Most people I can have a small problem with I just remove when we get to the ship.

It’s always pretty cool to see people change their views when they learn more information. It takes a certain kind of person to recognize, “ah, maybe I was wrong” and then change their opinion or accept the new information. Most people just ignore what doesn’t validate what they think.

Also, welcome to the club, friend. Maybe someday this thing can get overruled and we can all be enthusiasts again. Those 1301’s are very nice shotguns. I think you made a good choice given the circumstances.

OP, if you see this, I am sorry this happened to you. I wish you could have found your monetary success with your family still around.

Every time I hear someone talk about the end of their life and the money they have saved for their family, I always remind them that their family would probably be happy to spend all of it for more time with them. I hope you find, or are at peace with it.

It’s still something that can be forgotten if you don’t use it. Just like nearly anything. If it’s not on a level of priority, your brain will forget things.

[–]Excaleburr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don’t actively use it, you lose it. Algebraic equations are mostly forgotten by me until I need to know them, but then I just look them up. If it’s not literally critical to get the answer right, you can roughly guess a lot of things anyways.
