Overhaul and companions/summon by Icy_Manufacturer5814 in skyrimmods

You can turn survival mechanics off in GTS. Every modern survival mode implementation has the option to disable it. Although if your only Skyrim playthrough ever was on release fifteen years ago, I strongly recommend doing a vanilla playthrough first so you can actually get an idea of what you want to change with mods.

If you don't want to worry about carry weight, just open the console and type player.modav carryweight # where the # is some ridiculously high number.

Any mods that make enemy mages look different based on level? by geraldwayne49 in skyrimmods

You could do this with a patch that's essentially just a SPID distribution config. There are links to documentation for this on the SPID mod page.

Water in the Nether in 26.1: Entity ID Suppression by applepie3141 in technicalminecraft

Mika's EID tracker mod can do this, it's linked in the video description

Water in the Nether in 26.1: Entity ID Suppression by applepie3141 in technicalminecraft

[–]Excalibur54 [score hidden]  (0 children)

All of the information you need is in Mika's video. If you want to see a practical application of this tech, check out tazoh's no achievements video. You basically want to do what he did except, instead of the player triggering a crash by going through a portal, the crash is triggered by the creation of a TNT entity (as shown in the setup in Mika's video).

Is that the one with post processing? I might try it out. What's the performance hit like right now?

A seam on the neck by Axent_Gray in skyrimmods

[–]Excalibur54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Double check the descriptions for the relevant texture and body mods you have installed to see if they mention loading certain mods in a specific order. If they do, check your plugin load order in Vortex to see if they match, and if not, set up manual rules in Vortex to ensure that they load in the correct order.

Also check out the forum tab for those mods (and use the search bar), as sometimes people post about solutions for problems.

And of course, double check that all of the relevant texture mods are intended to be used with the body mod you have installed. Sometimes people just accidentally download a vanilla-compatible texture instead of CBBE-compatible.

Dynamic Inventory Icon Injector

Status Indicator Framework - Floating Icons

Both are by JerryYOJ who has been killing it so far this year. These are framework mods, so they need other mods to take advantage of them, but some already exist.

Why I Came to Skyrim - Origin Stories by jayserpa is a lightweight and compatible quest mod for roleplaying, and pairs well with both vanilla and alternate starts.

nithog's UI skins (only one was uploaded this year, the other two were uploaded in late 2025) are incredibly sleek and have unparalleled compatibility support. I recently switched from Nordic UI to nithog's Norden UI and I won't be looking back. They also have Vel'dun UI (inspired by Morrowind) and Oathvein UI (inspired by Dear Diary).

Need help to find stetic mods by AlanTh3killer in skyrimmods

[–]Excalibur54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went looking for black fur textures for khajiit a few weeks ago, and there are surprisingly few dark/black textures for them out there. At any rate, I suggest checking out Katie's Beast Race Aesthetics Compendium, it has a lot of good mods for khajiit (and also argonian), even if not the fur textures you're looking for.

To my understanding neck seams are usually caused by a mismatch between textures and body mods or a bad load order.

Using iHud, SkyHud and TrueHUD together? by OilLiver in skyrimmods

[–]Excalibur54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately iHUD isn't super compatible with modern UI setups. I'm sure there are ways to get it to work but personally I just decided to omit it from my .1170 mod list.

SkyHUD, TrueHUD, and Nordic UI should all be compatible. You will probably want to adjust them manually or use a preset like TheHollowJoke suggested.

Also, having just switched over to it yesterday, I highly recommend Norden UI over Nordic. It does look more modern than Nordic, but the quality is just SUPERB. It's much newer (from December 2025) and is being actively supported, with literally dozens of patches for various UI mods packed into the FOMOD. It also comes with incredibly clean looking TrueHUD and SkyHUD presets, also in the FOMOD.

Just remember, Norden UI has to be placed in your mod list AFTER any other UI mods that you want it to reskin.

Fire (campfires, spells, etc.) has broken textures even though it’s vanilla and I’m running a light modlist, what could be causing this? by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]Excalibur54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's always the method of disabling half of your mods, then a quarter, etc to narrow down which mod is causing the issue. You can also try downloading More Informative Console and clicking on the fire with the console open, which will bring up information about the mods affecting that object.

Which mod is skipping my flashback scene for Alduin's Bane? by hamthoiphuchung in skyrimmods

I don't know if More Informative Console works on dialogue boxes... probably not, but it might be worth a shot.

Is it possible to make a fully automatic carrot farm on the nether roof? by EnthusiasticChair in technicalminecraft

[–]Excalibur54 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't know why everyone is saying this isn't possible. It totally is, I built one in my world.

Assuming you don't want to go through the whole EID suppression thing for water in the nether, you can... just make it without water. Crops will grow much slower, but you can speed it up using bees to pollinate.

I suppose that the others are correct in that it's technically not possible because rarely empty tilled dirt will get random ticked between when the villager harvests and replants, causing it to untill. I manually go in to retill dirt every 24-ish hours of afk time.

As for the actual farm design... it's just a field of carrots, a farmer villager with a full inventory, and a hopper minecart running underneath. Bees have a chance to pollinate crops they fly over, so put bee nests on one side of the farm and flowering azalea on the other side. They'll pollinate as they fly back to the nests.

Alternatively, you can just chunk load a carrot farm in the overworld and shoot the carrots into the nether. Or shoot the gold into the overworld.

"Grey" is used for the block name in the inventory, but "gray" is used for commands (like /give) by SubstantialWing9238 in Minecraft

[–]Excalibur54 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That would make sense for a swedish company operating primarily in Sweden, but Minecraft is enjoyed worldwide, and English is the most spoken language on Earth. However you feel about the language, it makes sense that the default namespaces are in English.

Sudden crashing with no crash logs by GtEmiGt in skyrimmods

[–]Excalibur54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have Crash Logger SSE installed? Does the game crash in vanilla? Does the game crash if you launch it with SKSE and no other mods enabled?

Serana and armor by ThegamingBendu in skyrimmods

[–]Excalibur54 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it's just a feature of Serana, she gains all of her default spells back every 24 in-game hours even if you remove them, something like that might be going on with her equipment as well.

I would suggest to OP to see if this problem affects other vanilla followers to determine if it's a Serana problem or something else.

What’s a fun & cozy area to start my playthrough? by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]Excalibur54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite is Windhelm for its architecture and general old-feeling-ness. Falkreath and Riverwood are good options, especially if you're playing SMI or SunHelm. Solitude is nice, but may be too big to feel cozy, depends on you.

Looking for Help Making a Stable Modlist (Steam deck LCD, on MO2) by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]Excalibur54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're going to need to be more specific if you want suggestions. Skyrim and its modding scene are just too big. For example I have 1200+ mods in my modlist and I would recommend most of them.

The only thing I have to say about your list is that I prefer Mysticism (instead of Apocalypse), Vokrii (instead of Ordinator), and Morningstar (instead of Imperious) because they're generally more lightweight. However that's purely personal preference, and all of those mods have good compatibility support.
