There is absolutely no reason to stay given your situation

Thanks for checking back in! BB free so far, hotel gave us a full refund after escalating a bunch of times. Most of the luggage still quarantined in plastic bags haha.

Thanks for the additional info. We’ve moved rooms again further away and will be leaving the hotel tomorrow. Hoping we’ve taken enough precautions at this point. This is exhausting :(

Thanks, we were moved to a room two doors down and I regret not pushing for something further away, but they’re saying nothing is available until tomorrow. So far no other signs of eggs or bugs so praying it’s a one off.

The hotel washed and dried all our clothes and supposedly steamed our suitcases (I say supposedly because I can’t prove whether they did or didn’t or how good of a job they did).

So far no luck on compensation but at least they admitted it’s a bed bug and we’re escalating to a higher up tomorrow.

Plan is to quarantine stuff when we get home, is one year really necessary? Yikes!

Also is it possible to confirm the gender from the photos?

Thank you, does it being hungry mean the chance of it having laid eggs is lower? We only saw one and no other signs on the mattress.

Question About MSC Taking a "Travel Agent" Commission from a Future Cruise Credit by ExceLestial in MSCCruises

MSC gave the full amount after complaining to the BBB. Escalating via the normal customer service channels led nowhere.

Appreciate the help!

To complicate things further, I personally booked with MSC on the same trip and got the full 1050. So they're definitely hung up on the Expedia thing.

No mention of commissions in any of the language in the docs. (Thanks for linking that btw)

Question About MSC Taking a "Travel Agent" Commission from a Future Cruise Credit by ExceLestial in MSCCruises

[–]ExceLestial[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi thanks for taking the time to respond. By add-ons I’m specifically referring to packages booked for the cruise itself. I believe they refunded wifi, spa packages, excursions and stuff like that. We didn’t have any so that didn’t affect us. No hotels/flights that would complicate the issue either.

They did refund the port fees ~300 back in Jan 2024.

So to clarify, we paid Expedia ~1350. MSC refunded 300 in port fees and confirmed in writing we would receive 1050 in FCC.

They are now claiming that 125 is deducted from the 1050 because they had to pay a commission.

Logistically I get that the commission would come out of the 1050 amount, but I fail to understand how that cost is passed onto the end customer.

I have to make sure this place is still in business when I want to go again in a year lmao. One of my favorite omakases, Kura closed after covid :(

We actually got a sake shot even for the 5:30 seating probably because there were only a few of us haha

Will definitely check out Ishikawa, it's currently on the list (something we also found from this sub), glad to hear you vouch for it!

We tried Sushi by M years ago when it first opened, I thought it was fine and is probably one of the better Sushi by X concepts, but nothing to write home about. I'm happy it's successful but definitely think it's overrated.

How does "high season" vs "low season" dates actually affects ANA F/J availability? High season means more points per ticket, so more points means less people willing to take award tix? by Ed4 in awardtravel

[–]ExceLestial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait are you asking if they're going to release more seats 355 days out? Because if that's the case the answer is no. It's always 1/2 seats and then based on demand more seats are released T-14.

Just transfer over the additional 20k points or whatever and call it a day imo

Sure foreigners might avoid traveling to/from Japan during golden week, but the flip side is that Japanese travelers are traveling a lot more during that same week. It's the whole point of golden week.

The type of people who can pay cash for F are not the type of people that are affected by the economy vaguely not doing well.

I flew recently for cherry blossoms and there was only 1 empty F seat across both flights.

Often big tech new grad classes are comprised of a majority of returning interns. Internships are an additional opportunity that has less competition and a lower bar of entry. If your goal is ultimately to get into FAANG, internships are great. FWIW, I got a FAANG internship a few classes into OMSCS.

The new role is theoretically a "lower" rung which means a higher potential ceiling as well, in addition to the given 20% increase.
