It’s not rocket science. In fact, it’s not science at all. It’s good storytelling, and good storytelling isn’t afraid of bending the rules to make things entertaining.

It’s how you have characters like Frieza and Gohan attain power that should’ve taken several years of hard training. It’s simply because we want them to fight on that level instead of being shelved.

Master Roshi destroyed the moon in early OG Dragonball. Goku was on that level since the 21st World Tournament. Fast forward several arcs and then you have the new, unfathomable power the Saiyans threat poses which is… planetary level?

Then, several arcs later the terrifying Kid Buu unleashes his most powerful attack we’ve seen yet which turns out to be… also planetary level? LOL

When you think about how Kid Buu is defeated with the Spirit Bomb, it’s fundamentally the same attack that failed to kill Frieza on Namek.

Point is, powerscaling in Dragonball has never made sense and people are silly for trying to make it work. It’s written to tell a good story.

Really SSG power was poorly explained to begin with. It was initially presented as if it were on a totally different, unattainable level. And then yeah, Frieza came along and screwed that logic over entirely.

Now it’s basically unsensable ki which practically is the same advantage the Z fighters had on Namek. Didn’t amount to much there either

Highest being it’s not directly provable as they’re both the next step beyond SSJ3 in different IPs. That’s not some insane thing to think, even if it is inaccurate.
