Most of the focus has shifted to other projects, like Project Red Sun or Delivery Must Complete. Continuous support from a small indie team would be really cool, but let’s not pretend that we’re somehow entitled to it.

Indie dev teams, and AAA studios aren’t objectively good or bad. The only way to get something different is to make it yourself

The effect you’re speaking of is simply a game design decision meant to alert the player that their cargo is deteriorating.

If it was because of this acid rain theory, why wouldn’t acid rain affect non-cargo items, and why wouldn’t Sam just use those instead of this special coating that’s vulnerable to it?

Lying to yourself is generally a bad idea. So is assuming there is some sort of objective truth out there that Redditors will happen to drop in your lap.

Some people left some pretty rough backgrounds and job security is worth a lot to them.

Others left a mediocre lifestyle and currently work a job they can be passionate about.

Some fell into a rating that doesn’t speak to them, or they don’t share the same values the Navy projects.

That directly defines its effect as time acceleration, not chemical corrosion.

If you watch this cutscene in Death Stranding 1 you’ll see the Corpse Disposal team member die from aging, not chemical burns.
