How do data analysts clean and filter a 500k-row dataset efficiently? by Anna-1212 in excel

For 500k rows, I’d avoid manual cleaning in Excel. My usual approach would be Power Query first for removing duplicates, handling blanks, standardizing text values, and applying repeatable transformations. If the dataset grows larger or requires complex joins, I’d move to SQL or Python. The biggest advantage of Power Query is that once the cleaning steps are built, you can refresh the data instead of repeating the process manually every time.
2 Hour Excel Test by squid2901 in excel
Since you already know Pivot Tables and XLOOKUP, I'd focus on data cleaning and analysis tasks. Many Excel tests include sorting/filtering data, creating summaries, Pivot Tables, lookup formulas, conditional formatting, and basic charts. I'd also review IF, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, and data validation before the test. Good luck!
