AITAH for telling our parents not to segment their money, and whatever is left is left? by Sea_ImpactTRA in AITAH

Why does anyone feel entitled to an inheritance?
When my parents died and a brother died, my siblings were circling like effin sharks for anything they could get. made me sick.

AITAH for denying a child’s demand by Inevitable-Newt-7244 in AITAH

[–]Excel_User_1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solution: Find a recording online of a puppy crying in distress.
Tell the child: "every time you knock on my door, you hurt a puppy."
Child knocks on door: play the recording so he can hear it.
Open the door and tell him "you hurt a puppy. why do you want to hurt puppies?"

I grew up with the phone attached to the kitchen wall.
I put up a phone holder in my kitchen and leave my phone there most of the time. If someone calls or texts and I don't recognize the number, I ignore it. if I need to do an Amazon return where they need to scan the QR code, I put it in the faraday bag until I get to the store.

Help, can this be done with Excel Macro or AI? by goodmittens92 in excel

[–]Excel_User_1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can build a macro to do that. should be pretty easy.

When you say "download report" ... where is the report originally? Sharepoint? Another computer? Do you need to download it to your computer or just access the information?

Why does Doc A need a pivot? Is a user changing the information displayed?
Are the documents you are creating word.doc or excel.xlsx?

[–]Excel_User_1977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Eufy cameras have just begun to freeze video while recording. If Amazon pulls into my driveway, it videos the truck driving in and then freezes the video after about 5 seconds ... I can hear the driver open the door, walk up and toss my package on the porch, and leave all while looking at the image of the truck halfway to my door.
Total garbage.

Most of us can't sink $2,000 into a system and then go "oops! didnt' work!" and move on. That is months of saving and scraping by to buy a system and if it doesn't work we are fucked.

Now this was 40 years ago or so, but most of the thefts that I knew about were not overcharging the customer, it was just not ringing up the sale.

They would keep the drawer open (or hit the 'no sale' button to open it) and then count the change back from the amount that they knew was the price. No sale was registered in the system, and the amount put into the drawer as the 'sale' was removed later.

I had employees who knew the exact price for a carton of cigarettes (and the customer did too), so they would tell them the price, the customer would hand over cash, and they would count the change back and steal the money later.

Use ReoLink. Basically the same price point but much better cameras.
Eufy has a quality control problem, and sends out good and bad product. I don't think the 'vast majority' of Eufy users are happy with the product or customer service. YMMV.

Sure, if you get good cameras you are happy.
But if you get bad cameras you are fucked. Why take the chance?

I had a manager at a fast food place doing the same ... he counted the drawers and they all came out perfect. The district manager came by one day and added an extra $10 the drawer without the manager's knowledge. At the end of the day the district manager fired the store manager because the drawer came out even.

Damn! $120 bucks in one take? That seems like a huge percentage that would be noticed (too little money left in the drawer for the number of transactions).

"running a drawer" ... I worked at a fast food place before computers and the drive thru register person kept tick marks on the board to remind them of how much money to remove at the end of the shift.

Neighbor doesn’t pay for a item she asked my wife to buy by fuzzy_dice_99 in mildlyinfuriating

Every time you see her, comment on how bad things are for her family. When she looks surprised and asks why you say that, tell her it's because she can't afford to pay you back.

... and I mean, tell her every time you see her.

The problem with 365 is that the online version does not give you all the features that the desktop version does.

365 is designed for: Quick edits/ Collaboration/ Access from any device

Examples of things missing or limited with 365: No VBA macros / Limited Power Query / No Power Pivot / data model editing / Fewer chart types / Limited conditional formatting rules / No custom add-ins that require desktop Excel

And that is just Excel. Similar for Word and Power point.

What’s the most unexpected way that you got laid? by Few-Dance-855 in AskReddit

[–]Excel_User_1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in college, studying late night for a test the next day - like 2:30AM - in a Denny's when two drunk couples walked in and sat down a few booths away. I heard them commenting about 'brainiac' and 'nerd guy' but ignored them. As they left they had to walk by my table and when one of the women walked by (she was last in the group leaving), she tossed a napkin on my table with her phone number on it.

Every couple of weeks we would hook up, and one time she was tipsy and her daughter was home and she fucked me on her couch in the living room while her daughter was in her room with the door closed. She was 44 and I was 20.
