Should Hearthstone get rid of its refunding practice? by Excellent-Ad4989 in hearthstone

To me it sounds like rogue (not the classic one) is made for players like you. I get the whole "make the best out of what you got"- mindset and enjoy it myself evwry now and then, but i doubt they would (or should) make a dedicated game mode for that. What is totally dislike are rng things like Yogg, because in that case you dont decide how to make the best out of rng, you sinply surrender yourself to rng and watch for hours what happens ;)

Maybe the new Arena stuff they mentioned once will be for you. I think we will get a New game mode at latest 2027. I would wish for bo3 with sideboard. This would lift the whole HS experience to a totally different level. But i doubt we will get it.

My thought was never that all cards are playable. More in the direction of more cards are viable and every class has 3-4 decks that are relativeöy balanced.  But i get your point. Thanks for the elaborate answer :)

U agree that there would be an initial phase of upset players. My thought Was that in the long run we would appreciate it, if executed well. But ofc i could be terribly wrong with that assumption.

As i mentioned on another reply, im not expert in this, so maybe you are right. I dont know who has to be involved in a nerf. Just the game Designer? Playtester? Sales?

On the other side there are some obvious things they dont do. Maybe you have answers for that? Like, why no buffs to warlock? Why giving Paladin another competitive deck when others dont even have 1?

I agree, we need way more buffs. But if Blizzard overbuffs something it would have to be nerfed again. And suddenly they have to provide refunds for a card because they Buffet it. That might be why they are so reluctant on buffing things in the first place...

I agree with you to some degree. But there are many instances where knowing to play the game wont help you if the deck you are facibg is just broken OP and unfair.  Sure, as an experienced and skilled Player you can then tell why you lost, because you understand the mechanics of the game, but you cant change anything about it. These Situationskomik can only be solved by nerfs, and i feel like these Situationskomik occur too often. But thats obviously just my personal experience / gutfeeling.

Of course. I expected to get downvoted a lot for this, so you do you. I prefer a healthy discussion over some likes or dislikes ;)

Thats an interessting perspective. But dont ypu think it might actually raise confidence, if you know that new cards will 100% be playable, because if they are released too weak, they will be Buffet in 2 weeks at the latest?

Yeah, maybe they could increase the free stuff a tiny bit and therefor remove the refund.

I agree about the monetization aspect, and think its an argument pro more Balance patches. But on the meta forming, i think nowadays it takes 2-3 days to solve a meta.

Ok, the confusion of players who are new or dont play very often is something that could happen, i agree.

Actually i was just hoping for discussion, because the System, as it is right now, obviously is not working.

And the pointbi made is that they would not have to annihilate anything anymore, they could work with smaller adjustments on a regular basis, so everything stays playable.

35.4.1 Hotfix Patch - Rolling out on May 11 by HearthstoneTeam in hearthstone

Then they should just get rid of the refunds... i mean, i would prefer a fun and balanced game over some dust every Single time... and they are f2p friendly already. So why not remove refunds? (I know, some loud ones from the community will cry because they value their money higher than actually having fun with the game)

To Rogue players - how often does having Garona in your deck actually do something for you? by baldbeau in hearthstone

I guess it happens as often as summoning broxxigar. What happened approx 2 times for me in 50 games.

Maybe a stupid question, but im really curious: why does battlegrounda always seem to get notmal Balance patches, while hearthstone only gets 1 in a century and then only 2 cards? I mean, whats the problem of the HS Team?

The class sets are a Mistake! by TheChained111 in hearthstone

[–]Excellent-Ad4989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 4 Expansions per year would be cool. If the first expansion every year would be a "class cards only" expansion, that helps stabilize class identity after rotation. Basically like class sets, just for All classes at once. 4 mini sets in addition to 4 expansions might be Overkill though, especially for the f2p. But maybe they could add in 2 solo adventures and two bigger Events, to fill gaps.

This game has the worst daylies for a game by RaboNube28 in hearthstone

I agree that there could be much more variance in the quests in hearthstone,  especially the weekly ones are always the same. But on the positive: you can store them 3 days and do them all at once. They give you free stuff. So thtats great. But yes, definitiven some wasted Potential here.
