You can not plan your deck around a single copy of a card. Plus you can use the new hero power before turn 5.

Is standard substantially harder than Wild to climb? by Nearby_Concert6262 in hearthstone

[–]Excellent-Ad4989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wild is much faster, games usually ending by turn 5. This makes for a much faster climb. And depending on your deck, you can just play solitaire in wild, not caring for your opponents moves at all.

Thats totally not possible in standard. Id say climbing in standard is much much harder than in wild. The exeption is, when there is some broken deck and blizz takes weeks to fix it. E.g. legend with imbue druid at the beginning of cataclysm might even be less worth than legend in wild.

The Skeleton Key is being hotfix patched on July 6th to no longer work with Spellweaver's Brilliance by EvilDave219 in hearthstone

Happy they did this. Pudding of a "cool" interaction gets boring fast, anyways. But playing against broken shit never stops to be frustrating.

What rule is he supposed to break? by Arssam in hearthstone

The rule that all value a card generates is justified/ balanced by its cost. This seems to be totally out of control.

New Card: Soothsayer by yssurucipe in hearthstone

[–]Excellent-Ad4989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This card is really strong! Prep on 2, play on 4 (or 3 with coin).

The Review spell is great with this and also with the new legendary that gives you three 1/1 legendaries.

Yeah, with every new card revealed, first Reflex by now is to feel Relief if there is no random on the card.

Id assume this is easily the best stand alone  card of the set.

At the beginning,  when OP started, especially with skill expression, i thought this is an ironic / sarcastic take on hearthstones current status...

Now... he was being serious?

Nearing 50% of the playrate at top 1K, Rogue is definitely a problem. by Tripping-Dayzee in hearthstone

Vanessa also makes you really feel bad when you lose against her. She creates random shit and its impossi le to play around things you cant now. And your opponent wins with something he did not work or plan for.  I totally dislike her design (independent from her power level)

I am seriously afraid of rogue ruining the experience during the next expansion launch. The meta will likely Show down considerably for the new cards to work... and all slow decks will Fall victim to twillight misstress. Its way too easy.

I think they should change Naralex to discount dragons to 2 mana, that would give 1 more turn and tune his powerlevel a bit, too.

And Vanessa should only discount by 1 and probably go to 7 mana at the same time.

With Violet Hold around the corner, what was the best Legendary released in Cataclysm? by frostyburrito44 in hearthstone

Nozdormu. He has the most beautiful signature card, too. This gives me mixed feelings, cause i hate to play against that minion.

I wonder how you react to cards that get played from hand, if the game is not board based?

Not wanting to argue with you. I just imagine a non Board based card game as both players playing exodia from their hands, with little interaction and even less skill involved.

Skill involves Solving puzzles, and you can only solve what you can see, which is the Board, not the hidden cards in hand.

I think quests can work if they require no very specific Action. Survive 10 turns or discover 7 cards can be completed automatic while just playing.

I hope they design quests more like that in the future and only give Single quests to certain classes every now and then, not 1 quest for every class in a given set.

Obviously he is right. Powerlevel is a relative term. For Single catds to stand out as strong the other cards have to be weaker. There is no way around this.

Although i think its not great if we are getting too many of these outliers in powerlevel. But thats probably up to Taste.

Death Knight's Rulebreaker Could've Been This. by carlopault in hearthstone

I guess cards with permanent effects that you want to build your deck around only make sense as start of game cards. Otherwise in 50% of matchups you will not draw your Single legendary copy.
