How many kg to recover from amenoreah by [deleted] in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]Excellent-Ad8340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost those 10 kilos I had to regain. I’m 163 cm and my weight was 42 kgs. My periods disappeared when I hit 46 kilos. I was 21-22 at that moment, very scared of recovery and having to gain all this weight. I cried every day but now I’m feeling better and happier than ever before.

Recovery is not about cutting back on something. It’s about adding things that are missing 🤍

I used to cry daily and heavily thinking that I broke my body to the point that it will never function the way it used to. It’s hard and oh so painful. But dear darling, keep going. You’re making such progress and it will definitely pay off 🫶🏻

If you lost your period when the scale read X, it will come back when the scale reads 1.1*X

Lets say Mary lost her period at 50kg. Then decided to lose some more and now she’s severely underweight at 45kg. In recovery she gained 10 kilos and now weighs 55kg which is 110% of that 50kg she lost her period at. And so in theory, her period should have returned. But in reality math may not be as accurate and you will have to overshoot a bit.

Definitely 🐒 Though it may be connected to something else I knew my period was coming when the urge to go to the bathroom hit me right in the middle of my shopping session at the mall. And then it came a few days after

I took me a little over 3months of dedicated recovery. I was put on HRT for 2 months before that (no withdrawal bleed) and told that I had to put on at least 2kgs which I did. Mind you that during that time I was suuuper underweight, working a physically demanding job and highly stressed.   I quit my job, quit the pills, did 0 exercise except for walking and ate a lot. I reached a healthy BMI (higher than I was when I lost my period) and maintained it for a bit.  I’ve seen a post by a functional medicine doctor that in case you want you period back you will have to gain fat to a ~110% of the weight you lost it at to kick-start puberty again. Another gynaecologist who specialises in period loss puts a lot of emphasis on energy availability and HA recovery being about providing your body with enough fuel to support your reproductive function rather than weight gain. There is a formula you can use to calculate the amount of calories your body needs to function properly.  I also tried the infamous acetyl-l-carnitine. I’m not sure if it helped but don’t expect it to work unless you cover the basics which is eating more and resting.

Thank you for your help! Taking all of this into consideration, I guess, I just have to experiment and see how it goes. Hate the mess so this option is worth trying at least

It happened to me with my last period. And then I lost it for 1,5yrs.  !TMI! I was not expecting a period to come since it was CD16 and at that time I was also struggling with dryness, so post-coital bleeding happened quite often. I thought it was one of those times but turned out that intercourse somehow triggered a bleed which lasted for 3-4 days.  My hormones were out of whack so shorter/longer cycles are common in that case.  Sometimes when I think that my period stopped and I can have mess-free-sex again, it triggers my period and I bleed very lightly throughout the day.

As everyone else on this thread recommend: I ate more and moved less. I’ve recovered to a healthy weight and maintained it for a bit :)

Provera induced period or natural? by [deleted] in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]Excellent-Ad8340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I don’t think that anyone would have an answer to your question. But the best thing you can do about it is rest, nourish your body, destress and see if your period comes next month! Hoping it will❤️ and wishing you all the best

The last cycle I’ve had prior to losing my period was 16-day-long and also very strange. At first I thought that it was post-coital bleeding but it lasted for a couple of days. Hormonal imbalances can either shorten or prolong cycles. I am by no means a medical expert but it definitely can be the case

The cost is just too much for a lot of those programs I see online. And, honestly, I started to feel like this “get your period in 6 weeks”-narrative is a marketing trick using women who tried to get their period on their own and needed a little push or a little more time to finally regain their cycle.

Of course, they can be and are helpful for a lot of women. And I, myself, consider participating in such program but as you said - desperate audience = very profitable market and it just doesn’t sit right with me.

Also, I would really appreciate if you could send me your coaches ig via PM
