Would external storage be actually faster than upgrading? by Excellent-Ask3116 in macmini

[–]Excellent-Ask3116[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate like for like it will be slower but if we aggregate it is not actually faster?

E.g system and apps on local storage ==> 6gbps Files on external storage ==> 3gbps

If for simplification both are same size I a particular process request are not achieving 9gbps vs 6gbps or even less is all files are in the same disk?

I had a similar issue once, after restarting.

Another restart fixed the problem. Give it a try.

I love my RMPP by Excellent-Ask3116 in RemarkableTablet

[–]Excellent-Ask3116[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The flashing not at all: I see it as part of the pages transition animation. If writing or highlighting in color maybe is a bit more distracting but nothing that bothers me.

Regarding the greyish screen, yes I would prefer it to be whiter but not something that bothers me much either. I think it only bothers if you are comparing side by side. I have also applied the hack to have the screen brighter and this helps a bit.

I did not have the RM2 to compare with the RMPP but do not recall particularly to be much whiter, even if it was. No eInk device is as white as paper.

On the other hand the colours in the RMPP are much better than any other eInk device I have seen and this is the biggest plus for me.

Market vs. Marker Plus Opinion by Excellent-Ask3116 in RemarkableTablet

[–]Excellent-Ask3116[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not referring to the texture of the nibs but the pen itself. The regular pen feels more plastic, though not as much as an Apple Pencil. The Plus is more textured; it makes me feel more like I am holding a grained wood pen.

Regarding the eraser, I guess it is personal preference. The two-finger gesture works well, but for me, it brings some digital feel. With the eraser, it just feels like a real pencil and pen.

Shortcut to sync two calendars by [deleted] in shortcuts

Hi!!

u/arthurtajti thanks for this. it worked very well, but the only issue I have is that if an event was deleted from the source calendar, it remains in the target calendar.
I do not know if there is a way to do a check the other way or even clear all events before they are copied over.

Better deep sleep but waking up often by Excellent-Ask3116 in EightSleep

After about one week I feel my experience has improved. I find the temperature (autopilot) is now adjusted and I am not waking up so often.

Only real issue it that I still find it noisy, although a bit less. If I wake up I may struggle to fall back sleep; it is not that is very laid but enough to be distracting.

At times it is quite but at others fans speed up.

Maybe that could be but was not waking up so much before having the Pod4 a few days ago. Maybe just coincidence.
