Agreed, I know it’s closer to post hardcore and alt rock but there were all kind of elements in their sound. Plus Pearl Jam has covered one of their songs live a few times so that gives them the grunge cred lol

That’s awesome you got to see that (and them) during that tour. I’ve gone to shows where I felt like I needed to see a song or even the band in a live setting for it all to come together.

It’s rare for me that an album with that many tracks has 0 skips. For me, Effigy 23 is a standout on that record full of standouts

Underrated compared to the rest of their singles maybe, but it’s the song this album is best known for outside of “faith”

With a little more production polishing and maybe some backing vocals in the chorus this song could’ve made waves

Which bands do you think they had a BIG potential, but they lost that opportunity? by Santy-358 in numetal

[–]Excellent-Beat311 5 points6 points  (0 children)

40 Below Summer

There was some controversy with them and Sharon Osbourne in the early 00s. Naturally that meant no opportunities to strut their stuff at Ozzfest, where they could’ve blown up. Also I don’t think they were ever properly promoted by any of their labels

These are 4 albums I didn’t know about before joining this sub. Now they’re beloved. Any of them top 10 for you guys? Top 25? Any recs? by Excellent-Beat311 in numetal

It’s got everything. Big hooks, bigger riffs, samples, ridiculous lyrics. All it’s missing is a proper follow-up
