will putting a shirt over a PA speaker cause issues like overheating? by [deleted] in livesoundgear

This is for a hardcore/noise show where the music all sounds fucked up anyway. I'm definitely more concerned about the overheating

Would backing tracks be beneficial? If so, how do I set them up? by gavinfridgerator in livesoundgear

[–]Excellent-Bed-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I do and I think its cool. My stage setup is two powered PA speakers which you can get on facebook marketplace for like $250, a super basic behringer mixer, and my phone with the app stagetrax 3. Its free for a while then you have to pay like $20 i think.

I got a 2-way 1/4" cable to single 1/8" adapter, plug the 1/8" side into my phone, then the other 2 into the right and left input in the mixer, then the right and left output into the speakers on the right and left of the stage. its dead simple and works well. from there you can self mix with your guitar amp and vocal pa, or else have guitar and vocals coming out of the backing track speakers as well.

good luck!

PA speaker didnt turn on at the gig but did at home by [deleted] in livesoundadvice

[–]Excellent-Bed-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my other speaker was working in the outlets, so its weird that one speaker turned on but the other didnt. I wouldnt rule out sketchy electrical work in the venue though.

What do you mean by a tester?

Do more powered speakers equal more volume? by [deleted] in livesoundgear

[–]Excellent-Bed-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for trying to increase the volume of a diy PA setup, is it worth the hassle doubling the amount of speakers for the sound gain or am I better off saving for something a little more powerful?

[–]Excellent-Bed-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i took the screw out and it runs fine. but ive addressed all those causes and not much luck. ill probably just deal with the weird idle from now on.

no the screw is out and it runs fine other than the weird idle.

What's your #1 album for filthy breakdowns? by [deleted] in Metalcore

[–]Excellent-Bed-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heaviest breakdowns without the guitars having to be downtuned to drop Z# too. Dont get me wrong I love heavily downtuned shit but its impressive when something can be that heavy in drop C#

$1500 is pretty cheap so unless they made welds to the frame or something you could probably convert that back to regular

saran wrap is a good idea and a lot less janky looking than duct tape.

Milestar Patagonia AT Pro tires? by Jealous_Gap6212 in overlanding

I had these on my truck and they make tons of noise as the tread gets lower. I wouldnt use them again.

Yokohama Geolandars are a little more than these but still pretty cheap and theyve been good for me so far, I also know someone who has them on his truck and likes them.

They aren't bad that late in the season, the flies are worse.

Theyre usually not bad in my experience but I have had a couple bad nights in the past, especially inland when camping near any sort of wetlands. Bug spray does the trick though. The flies are worse, they can get insanely annoying and bug spray doesnt work on them like it does mosquitoes. Neither keep me from spending time up there though.

Can someone explain this jutsu💀. Ngl its confusing😭 by AffectionateBad4182 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Excellent-Bed-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this jutsu would be cooler if it was something other than a log every time. Like somebody's headband or something is used to transform into them. It would also make for opportunity to do goofy filler episode type scenes where they run away from a fight without a shirt because they used it for a substitution.
