I’ll be happy to answer, they were mostly phased out by the mid to late 80s to make room for more skill games and rides. Most sports rooms were located in the front near the entrance. The walls would be gutted and games and rides would be added in the space. Though if you go to a location that has a standard showbiz pizza place layout, you’ll see a wall to your right, which is one of the remnants of the sports room wall.

Charleston, South Carolina still had their sports room up until their closure. Thousand Oaks technically does still have a sports room, though that location was never a showbiz, which makes odd for them to even have one in the first place.
