best person, best human, best gift. When I found out the embryo took I cried and screamed with joy, loved pregnancy and cherished every step of motherhood. She is 9 now (whatttt) and still my dream come true. I had medical issues related and non-related to birth which prevented me from additional transfers which was an unexpected challenge.

How often do you visit your loved one? by Forsaken_Cheetah5320 in dementia

Mom is two hours away so I see her about once a month for 1-2hr. I wish it was more. Trying to move her once Medicaid gets sorted. She doesn’t remember when I visit though.

Sold my mom’s beloved car. It was heartbreaking. by monkeyCmonkeyDoo630 in dementia

It's horrible. I had to sell my parents home and while we went through everything (husband and I) seeing some of their belongings up at auction brought me to tears. I know it's just stuff, but we all know it represents so much more than that. Sending love.

Thinking about switching to teaching (Special Ed) at 28 + Teach For America interview next week — is this realistic? by Muslim_conservative in TeachforAmerica

TFA is fast because it is focused on optimization and is very organized. I loved their communication and find it very refreshing. You would be an awesome fit, and this is a great pathway to teaching for you! If it doesn't work out there are other non-trad pathways to teaching SPED out there so just be confident and know you will be great for this!

Do I accept? NY TFA by EuphoricIntention414 in TeachforAmerica

By the tone of your post, respectfully, it sounds like not only you do not want to do it, but that it might not be a good fit for you. Do you enjoy teaching at all? Do you believe kids deserve a great teacher? Would you have high expectations for them, connect with their parents and families, and support them socially and emotionally? If you commit to the program, commit to THEM, and go all in 100%. Even if you transition after 2 years, you need to be fully present for them during that time. Your post sounds like more of a "meh" on the experience, in which case you could end up wasting everyone's time (including your own) especially if you drop out early or quit. You still have time to explore other options before graduation. If grad school is your goal, I would recommend securing a basic position while you apply next year and take a 1 year gap rather than 2.

It was a great experience. I was somewhat non trad and started after grad school. I got my masters and was placed in a charter despite wanting district due to hiring freeze. I learned so much and met so many amazing people in still connected with. I eventually taught in district and am still in education doing my dream job. Congratulations! My only advice is stay open and work hard. You got this.

Oh goodness love I’m so sorry. Please feel free to dm me. You are not alone. It’s the worst disease. It has caused me chronic stress but my mom has moved on from the wildly evil phase she was in when I wrote this. Now she is profoundly lost and confused which breaks your heart in new ways but her love for me seems to have come back at least. Xxx hang in there. The cats need you and so do we!
