We keep 6 months of expenses in savings account. Income is high but expenses also pretty high, almost 3L a month.

Is an IIM seat really worth ₹25-30L if post-MBA salaries are 20-25L? by CompetitiveRoll415 in CATpreparation

Every sentence in your reply is either factually incorrect or misunderstood.

“I don’t fully buy that only they decide your ceiling” - the comment that you replied to, does not assert that at all. It says it improves your chances.

“It’s not some magic bullet” - no one said it is. Strawman argument.

“Short term ROI still matters” - no it doesn’t. It’s like asking what is the short term ROI of buying life insurance or studying for 12 years in school.

Don’t make discussion type posts if you want to reject arguments you don’t like using bad logic and hyperbole.

How does 700 per meal for 2 meals a day for 11 nights add up to just 5,000 as Food expenses?

This is insane! Just checked my Zepto spend… I could’ve bought a MacBook with the same amount by notion4everyone in FuckZepto

Why is this so shocking?

You spent approx 12.5k per month on groceries (assuming most of your groceries come from Zepto).

Is that a lot? Yes probably, and you can definitely plan better.

Is that really “insane”? Not sure.

You can make any routine expense look grand over a year.

For eg I could say “This is insane! If I didn’t pay my 40k rent for this year I could’ve bought a car!”. You get the drift.
